Do you own the modules for the planes you are trying to fly?
If you are doing a mission created in the editor did you remember to set the aircraft as flyable (player or client options in the skill level drop down). If not then you have set it up as an AI aircraft so you can only watch it fly and not enter the cockpit.
If you are trying to use a mod then 1) have you put it in the C:\Users\<Username>\Saved Games\DCS\mods\aircraft directory (and not the main Steam DCS game directory as that will break things) and 2) do you have any required base aircraft modules for the mod to work (most require at least the FC3 F15 module and, with latest patch and the move to FC4, there's no guarantee that a mod will still work without an update by the creator)
Multiplayer is not working properly, getting to a plane is hit or miss and can't request repair, taxi, landing.
The A4C is a standalone mod and doesn't require anything else to work. Most of the VSN ones are either just reskined models with FC3 cockpits or rely heavily on exporting those FC3 systems, e.g. radar.
Good news is that VSN are pretty active in supporting most of their work.
I have the F15 Eagle Module which is what is needed for the F-22 Mod to work. Everything prior to the update was working flawless. no issues in setting up mission creations or setting up the client (me) as the player.
for anyone else with the F1 issue, what worked for me was to load a mission file with the F15, Immediately exit and load a mission with the F-22. That allows (at least in my testing) to get the cockpit view.
Since some of the important functions were not working as well (Flaps, Landing Gear, Cannon) I opted to go back to Beta (working fine)
