Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick
I've always wanted to fly in a flight simulator since I was a teen, yet the flight sticks were always in the hundreds.

I don't want to invest so much money on a game that I might not even play consistently. A few DCS world players and friends recommended this flight stick for starting off. It's 40$ and seems pretty decent, but I wonder if anyone here knows more about it than just its price.

I would probably suggest slogging through a couple of reviews on YouTube to get a good idea about it.

It has a throttle, and a rudder paddle on the back of the throttle, which is a much bigger step up from just a basic single stick than you might think, so that's actually really cool for the price. But like I said, it's best to get a few different viewpoints on it, YouTube reviews a good in that they can actually show and demonstrate things for you, and you can decide if it's actually a problem or not for yourself.

It's actually really good, lasted for 6 years before 1 button broke, and everything else still works. Great beginner stick.

I had it for 6 months, and i loved it. Simple, reliable, and pretty decent. I'd definitely recommend it.

If u want a bugdet stick which u wanna enjoy during gametime, i suggest getting a logitech extreme 3d pro. Its at least 10 bucks cheaper than the thrustmaster. I bought it in june. Doesnt have a major problem for its price. But it is not a hotas joystick(which means u dont get a seperate throttle). u use a slider for throttle and the stick for rudder inputs. It has 12 buttons on it and an 8 channel hat. I dont like the hat that much so i dont use it.
one last thing, dont forget to meddle with the axis tune option in adjust control section.

For 10 bucks more why not get the T.Flight and have a throttle.

HOTAS is a must if you are going to plan on purchasing A-10C or the helicopters (helos are thougher to fly unless HOTAS)....they have too much workload.

I dont have HOTAS model and what I got is a Thrustmaster flight stick X not the HOTAS X.

Tried my hand at DCS Mig 21 and A-10C. A-10C requires HOTAS and its got more workload than the mig 21.

But, if you're going to purchase just the DCS World (excluding the helicopters) and FC3 (FC3 got more planes that does have more than enough realism factor) the Cheaper Flight stick X or logitech 3D is better.

It's a great stick. Ergonomical masterpiece too. It was my first DCS stick and I never upgraded to another. Because this one fits so perfectly into my paws.

I will tell you this. If you love flying you will find a way to fly any DCS aircraft with whatever Stick you have! How do I know ? Because I did for years and loved every minute of it.

There's also voice command software . https://voiceattack.com for $10. I use it and it works great with headphones with built in mic.

Also a little trick I used with my old stick is DCS allows you to modify each Joystick button with Shift, Ctrl , Alt and Win buttons, Both left and right. So One button on your stick can do 9 things if you used all 8 modifiers plus button 1 on your stick and button one by itself. Also you can combine modifiers so LWin + LShift + Joy Button1 is a unique function. This works for the hat switch as well.

I eventually got an X-55 stick and built my own head tracker but I had a blast with a simple stick and some creativity.

As a owner of an T-Flight Hotas i can only recomend it for entrance level; if you are not sure in investing that much into DCS or any flight sim currently.

The stick works fine, but dont expect it to be really precise like any expensive one. Since i'm flat broke still using it to fly, after some tinkering with game options its handling somewaht nicely (god, i love the curve option for axis in dcs, no need for external app. Using 12 points for my T-flight) .

U can't go wrong with a t-flight hotas. Solid product for low budged and very easy to config. U can set modifier buttons in the game's controls tab and quadruple the number of bindings. Enough for every full simmed plane the dcs series offers.
