can you only control air units in this game? OR can you control tanks and naval ships?

with the DLC named combined arms you can drive and control vehicles.. Example tanks, sam anti air systems ect ect.
but be aware the controls are kind of basic. You can add power and shift gears ect.

Shooting with a tank or aa / sam ect is kind of simple, so do not expect same kind of detail like in the planes at all. Example with the aa gun you point at the target right click and schoot.
So no keys to press or anything like that.

You can lase targets for your friends that can come and bomb and so on.
But actual in the real world scouting is very important and you will be a great help for your army if you can find/mark and call in air support.
And you can be a kind of general and select and move ground forces arround on the map from a top down view.

If your looking to play this game for ground combat your in the wrong place. This is a high fidelity flight simulator, the ground stuff is kind of a gimmick right now.

There are plans to improve other aspects but they are not here yet.

War Thunder is doing ships in time, but for now they are focusing small.

Combined Arms gives you some rudimentary control over the battlefield and even individual ground units, but it's pretty poor. It was mostly designed to supplement flying the A-10C, allowing you to control the ground units while flying. If you are looking for tank combat, DCS is far from what you want.

Come join us in Steel Ocean, we'd love to have more players.

Similar to WoWS but with more control over weapons systems (inc. manual AA) and there's even playable subs. No aim assist, and BBs can even fire over mountain ranges. There is a small but competitive community here, as it has Chinese developers and they don't have the resources to run international ad campaigns to compete with WoWS so as of now all advertising is basically word of mouth. So, "word up." The graphics are pretty decent but not quite up to WoWS standard. However, the gameplay is better than WoWS - much more skill based, don't expect to jump in with a new ship and commanders and start whooping up on veterans. There is a learning process but it's fun.

They haven't confirmed anything even as large as playable DDs, so I wouldn't hedge your bets that "ships" will be coming to WT anytime soon. One day, maybe, but they haven't commited.
