Why are you excited about a non combat aircraft in a combat aircraft sim? There's no kind of "strategy" layer to DCS like a dynamic campaign where being able to pilot a C-130 might be useful.

Unless the 130 module is also coming with that 130 gunship that I can't remember the name of.

I think there was mention of it for a future addition. But, even then, that just adds ground attack element and without Air Supremacy the Puff would be a sitting duck for any aircraft that had a gun.

Also, an Air-To-Air refueling capability has also been mentioned.

multiplayer servers have had support for logistics for awhile. working the c-130 in won't be to hard.

We don't know the extent of it, but a dynamic campaign system is currently in development. Not to mention there are servers that do feature a dynamic campaign as well as third party programs such as Liberation.

The C-130 would fit nicely within both of those, especially some of the servers where logistics is a large part of it.
Gunfreak 3/set./2022 às 13:58
People are already flying Choppers for logistics. This is a military flight sim, not a "combat flight sim" there will be lots of people looking forward to dropping of supplies, dropping paratroopers, and later on doing air to air refuelling. Not to mention for many it will be a new plane to master. A very very different plane from anything in the game perversely.
Sr. Rumpshaker 3/set./2022 às 14:44
Do we know the price of the DLC?
I'm looking forward to it.

DCS isn't all about air combat for some of us.

Remember that there's Christen Eagle II in DCS for some reason. I think C-130 fits in more than that.

I have always wondered why that was added. I can understand the TF-51 as they already had a P51 module, but the Eagle is odd.
geistXIII 3/set./2022 às 18:57
The Eagle is a beautiful plane though and it's performance is insane. Lots of fun to push it to the limit.

And why should everyone combat and not casual flight like in Aerobatics Server? Just chill bro. C-130 is a great addition in a simulator like this and it will open doors to a new projects.

You've kicked a hornet's nest, haven't you? ;)

1. It is an essential aircraft when it comes to combat operations - it's flying with you a lot, you just don't think about it because it's AI (KC-130 - ont to mentioin utility/tansport/recon aircraft are essential to any bigger operations, the unsung heroes. Can't effectively fly that fighter of yours without the whole structure backing you up.

2. There is a logistics layer for some time now used in many multiplayer servers, and some use C130J mod with that as well. About time ED did something in this direction, there's a player base that wants it.

3. There are multtiple projects from multimission Liberattion campaign to XSAF Skynet AI where it's dynamic and where logistics matter.

4. The name you're looking for is AC-130. Hopefully they develop that too, after they're happy with C-130. But even then, flying a transport mission with other players as escorts? I mean, I'd sign up for that. It would also be a diffeernt kind of experience for the escorts themselves, protecting actual player - that can be communicated wiith and can cooperate with them.

I'd even go for KC-130 gameplay, where I could hang around the area of operations and maybe risk my skin a bit by ingressing into it to help out a fighter who just couldn't manage the fuel and is now hanging out dry.

I hope it will be flyable with a dual Throttle. I own hte warthog from TM, having 4 engines might mean i might have to bind 2 engines to a throttle lever, (in fact it would) just need to work on what ones i would need to bind
Hootman 4/set./2022 às 15:13
As a retired Paratrooper, it would be nice if paratroop capability was available, even nicer if you could actually jump. Doing airdrops and LAPES would be fun too. Dangerous 'bidness. I was in the 82nd during a CAPEX waiting on the other side of the DZ with my UH-60 when this crash happened https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZr74GgW7-M&list=WL&index=53

Kind of kicked a hornet's nest but at the same time tone is hard to tell in text and maybe they thought I was being derisive or something.

Does DCS's net code have the positional accuracy to support player controlled tanking? I don't actually know. I mean everyone's seen the whole phasing through the floor on landing thing, but that might just be on landing.
