How do I set up my Saitek X52, I'm very new and I don't know how to set it up. If anyone wants to share their setup that has the same joystick please help.

Make sure you get the 64 bit version.

Just make sure this runs on windows startup, and just let it sit there. Seems to be just basic drivers that allow logitech products to function. It doesn't really do anything, you can poke around in it if you want, but nothing really there. BY ALL MEANS STAY AWAY FROM G-HUB IF YOU GET PROMPTED ABOUT THAT.

Software Version: 8.0.213.0

OS: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 11

Software Type: 64bit

This also comes with the old type of Saitek SST programming software, which you can play around with but should probably avoid at all costs. It's pretty much considered junk and doesn't work well with programs, but you can play around with it and try it. It's the only way you can fully use the "3" modes set with the rotating knob on the stick, but again, it's pretty much useless.

Just load these two, ensure the X52 is recognized in windows joysticks, and you're set.

You bind the controls of the plane you want to fly to the inputs of your HOTAS in the controls menu.

However, finding X52 profiles for DCS aircraft is incredibly difficult. It requires you to use something very complicated called a "google search".

The tutorial planes, just so I can get a basic understanding and copy what I would have from there

Im not sure about others, but it took me alot of playing around in DCS options and the X52 software in order to get the mini-stick to work with TDC Slew. It was a game changer. I've never had to use mode 2 or 3 but if you do and want to use the X52 software its actually not to bad once you play around with it. It certainly could be better.

I can appreciate what we X52 users have to deal with.... so just ask away and if I can help I will.

Here is that link with the .pr0 (X52 software), .lua (for DCS), a README (instructions i wrote for myself in case) and some screenshots. (This is NOT for the X52 "PRO")
