Useful extras
First external component I would recommend to enhance your DCS experience is "Voice Attack". This program has allowed me to effectively and verbally control the comms. I also have productive conversations with George (CP\G), Larry (Left door gunner), and Randy (Right door gunner).

I also chose to try the Woojer edge haptic vest. 6 transducers in a vest providing 360 degrees of environmental feedback. It is a little cumbersome. I intend to strap it to my flight chair and use it like a seat harness. It does have to be charged through a wall socket, it will not charge through a computer. It will connect via bluetooth, but I use that connection for the headphones feed. So I connect the vest with USB.

If anyone knows of other cool extras for DCS, or want to review currently available hardware for DCS, Please continue this thread.

Well, if I don't mention the 1:1 authentic controllers (like the HOTAS WARTHOG), then the most usefull thing is the head tracking device like TrackIR or alternatives like DelanClip.

TrackIR: https://youtu.be/yVbWO5v5WJo

Quite interesting thing also is Gametrix KW-901 Jetseat which is vibration feedback chair cover for flight sims.

If you own the 3D printer, you can meet yourself with the authentikit project and print the 1:1 authentic controller. The files are for free. You can also participate in project:

If you are in love with DCS and want to spend everything in it, you can get the simpit: https://viperwing.com/f-16-flight-simulator/

BTW there are many communities where you can find a lot of DIY made very nice looking simpits. Awesome what people will do for their hobby.

Not that it is in my budget, but is there an available FFB 1:1 Flight Stick. I use an obsolete FFB G940. Its a great stick, but it is not 1:1, and its showing its age.

I had G940. It was quite terrible quality product. I reclaimed it 3 times and always had the same issue. Actually there is the only one FFB stick made by company Brunner. But they also do the FFB rudder pedals which might be awesome. Unfortunately those things are not the cheapest ones. See https://www.brunner-innovation.swiss/produkt-uebersicht/ This controller is compatibile with Thrustmaster A-10C grip and with the Virpil T-50 grip.

GameTrix Jetseat... Good Luck finding a new one. It is very much like the Woojer vest. It would be less cumbersome and it puts transducers under you. I use my bass speaker for that and the vest puts transducers on the side and front as well as the back. That adds situational awareness esp. when taking small rounds in a helicopter.

Yep... Nope, Brunner is not going to fit in my budget.
So do you use a thrustmaster HOTAS?
Troll Norris 22. juni 2022 kl. 11.08
I use Vipril Mongoos T-50 base with T-50 grip and A-10C grip. As throttle quadrant I use Thrustmaster A-10C throttle quadrant.

Combatflite - very nice tool which can export data like your own routes into DCS.

If it had been compatible with my winwing F18 stick on an extender. I would seriously consider it.

NICE! I can say the Track IR was one of the biggest Quality of Life improvements for me and is a must for the AH-64 in non V.R. for the cannon. Also for dog fighting.
Brass Wing Hawk 22. juni 2022 kl. 20.06
I did Track IR for years, but it doesnt compare to VR. However it would be a great compromise if one were using something like Scratchpad.

How does the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog compare to the Logitech G940. is it worth the cost of the transition? I realize Vipril would be better, but I can only do one step at a time.
