DCS World Steam Edition

DCS World Steam Edition

Size of game
I run the standalone on an m.2 . It's sitting at 374 gigs with all the maps and modules short of the apache and WWII aircraft/maps does that sounds about right ? That seems awfully high from what I've seen on the Google .

My OpenBeta standalone is 333 GB, and I don't own anywhere close to everything.

441 GB Open Beta with everything installed, but consider you might still use aound a 100GB on liveries and unofficial modules (mods) in your Saved Games/DCS directory.

Main game installation folder? That's a bit much.

Do you have a lot of mods or something? A lot of downloaded liveries?
Xupicor Sep 11, 2022 @ 1:04pm
Liveries should go to Saved Games/DCS though, not to the main game installation folder. ;)

They don't have to. You can put them in the main folder as well.

They don't have to, but why not use the system in place that makes things easier for us and separates the modded files from the game installation, making it easier to reverse changes and remove stuff without risking removal of stuff that you actually need?

Reserve game installation for mods that really need to modify files in there. That's the philosophy of modding DCS right now.

If you're a dedicated player of DCS you really need a SSD just for that. I did the same thing.
