I checked the files section on the DCS site, and there are a couple of profiles for the X56 but no X52. One guy does have his Voiceattack profile there already though.
I guess my point is sorry I can't help, just suggesting maybe look into Voiceattack, I use it for all flight sims. Using that I wind up with minimum HOTAS bindings rarely take my hands off the HOTAS
If anyone wants the profile (.pr0 file / pdf of layout) just message me... cheers
I would be grateful for your profile!
Thank you :-D
Ice - I sent you a friend request because I cant message you otherwise.
How was the setup process? I think it would be beneficial but after setting up all my binds im somewhat hesitant to start making amendments.... You would recommend it though?
You don't have to change what you've already binded, you use those bindings to create the voice command. And for each bind, you use mutiple commands to accomplish the key presses (Engine one to fly, left hand engine fly, left engine fly, number one PCL to fly". That way you don't have to remember one exact command, you will hit it in one or two tries.
The setup is a long process, lots of binds. However, you can do it on the fly while sitting in the aircraft, as you can alt tab, create the command, and go right in and test it without having to restart the game. I don't mind it, I sort of enjoy the process. I do Voiceattack programming 2-3 hours a sitting, doing the keybinding in game the exact same time I create the command. It can be tiring, but the ultimate reward is worth it.
Using the quick start manual also on another screen as I go. there is another added benefit. You learn all the aircraft controls and systems as you go, where they are, and what they do. I also have been setting up sort of scripts, such as "Pilot boresight", which then executes the individual commands to put you right at the boresight to just press the button.
The most difficult part was deciding how I wanted to do the MFD buttons and the aircraft keypad. I followed the settings on the panel and in game for commands, for instance my command for the left panel WPN button is "Left display weapons". For the buttons not named, I used the naming convention B2-B6, T1-T6, etc. So it's easy to navigate the MFD's without ever taking hands off the HOTAS. "Left display B2", "Right display L3" to press those buttons. For the various rotating knobs, I used what they are called on the panels, and the Voiceattack command can bet set to "activate" from .001 seconds to X seconds. For instance, to adjust night flood lights "Increase flood lights", "Decrease flood lights" for .03 seconds, which moves the knobs in increments. If I want them full on, "Flood lights on" or "Flood lights max" with the command actuating for 2 seconds, resulting in a full knob turn. All turning knobs use the same convention, Increase and decrease.
For the keypad entries, I programmed general commands, letters A-Z and numbers 1-9, and all the named keys like "Enter". So all I have to do, for instance, to adjust the gun distance, is something like "Left display weapons", "Left display B4", and look at the keypad and say "one", "two", "zero" "zero", and "enter".
For all the key combos on modern flight sims, I probably wouldn't play without it. I have no interest in trying to remember/refer to a list of alt-shift keys and press them while flying.
Also have "generic" keys programmed, for instance to open the "comms", I say "Radio" or "Coms", and "F1", "F12", or whatever the menu selections are, so navigating those ingame menus is a snap also.
For $10 bucks, Voiceattack is a steal.
Just not having to click on the MFD (hornet) buttons and doing the command or even setting up a script after weapons away to switch to next WP and target designate would be huge.
Thanks again and Ill post back once I get it sorted.
I sent a request to add you as friend, I might be able to send you my VA profile that you can import to VA to build on, see how I did it, or start using it. Not really interested in making it fully public as I think I may in the future set up to sell all my VA profiles for a buck or two. I have almost everything programmed other than all the radio settings, and other things not implemented yet like the collective and FCR commands. Also, when building your own profile VA allows you to "copy" a command from one profile to another, so can save you a lot of work.
Thats great! save a ton of time. Thanks!
