i think, you can set it up so there are slots available for every aircraft that's tasked to a mission. but don't quote me on that its been awhile and i dont think ive tried that.
as for the AH-6. and other aircraft you may need to read the guide on making your own faction that includes it. so far i think the F-22, and A-130, and the new goshawk are all allowed to some extent. and with a bit of tinkering with creating a faction you can add any faction to your side as buyable/deployable etc.

Thanks, i'll try that.
Now Eagle Dynamics is currently working on dynamic campaign engine too, so it will be added to the game one day. Additionally, even with BMS mode, Falcon 4.0 isn't looking as beautifull as DCS world and it doesn't have helicopters as far as I know.
As for helicopters, I can recommend you Ka-50 or Mi-8MTV2 or both of them. They are both very well made. Or you can wait for an upcoming Mi-24P it will come to an early access first but it will be playable. The UH-1H Huey is nice too. As for SA-342 Gazelle, it may be not the best choice because it have a problems with its flight model and it is something that the devs of this helicopter are aware of. As I know, these devs are planing to create a Kiowa helicopter and then add its flight model to SA-342 Gazelle. Oh and the last thing, Eagle Dynamics have started working on AH-64D, nobody knows when it will come to early access but at least we know that they will create it.
The only reason I don't play BMS ie because it's an hardcore sim only featuring jets.
I don't like hardcore sims, but since I like helicopters so much I'm willing to take the learning curve if it's anything about helicopters.
if gazelle is buggy mess i'd wait for kiowa and apache then, not a fan of russian choppers.

You can either get the above for single player, which it's kinda of cool as it has AI aircraft and such.
Or just look for through the inferno (TTI) on multiplayer servers.
Great for learning and practising missions too.
Oh I understand, but DCS is a hardcore sim too. Each high fidelity plane and helicopter have around 400 - 700 pages manuals and you really have to practice flying them. Like in real life, the more you practicing the better you fly. You still can buy a UH-1H, it is not a ground strike helicopter but it have an unguided missiles, miniguns and a side door machine gun. So you can clear landing zones, attack light armored / unarmored vehicles and infantry. The multicrew feature has been added not along time ago, so if you have a friends that like this helicopter too, you can fly it with them as a pilot co-pilot and a gunner, but they have to buy it as well.
You can turn down graphics stuff, particularily the terrain load distance. Having that jacked is going to tank your resources.
Having said all that, if you're planning on running this game cranked and want a solid 60FPS across the board, you need a really beefy system.
* About RAM and FPS: I know someone's going to take issue with me associating RAM with FPS, but here's the thing. Any time the game has to stream data from the drive (and DCS streams A LOT of data) you're going to get frame rate drops as the game waits for data. If the game is maxing out available memory, you're now swapping, which is going to further decrease performance. Unless you're running a potato video card, RAM and an SSD are the two best performance mods you can do for DCS. The more crap it can hold in RAM and the faster it can stream it or swap it, the smoother your overall performance will be.
