are the requirements to run the game real?
so i saw the requirements at the steam page and i just met the ram requirement and cpu requirement but then i saw requirements outside of steam and i met all of these requirements so i wanted to know if it is truly a cyberpunk 2077 requirement game

No it isnt. I played DCS the last Years with only a GTX 1050TI and 8GB Ram so this Games is fine with the Specs on Steam. But a better machine gets better graphics :)

Speaking purely on a practical level and having played DCS on both mid/high and quite low-end systems, I think it is fair to say that the minimum requirements (as listed on the ED website) are optimistic at best. You will be able to technically run the game but it won't be a terribly good experience as you will need to lower settings to a point where it actually impacts the gameplay experience. It is probably a good idea to see the recommended requirements as a sort of middle ground between minimum and mid-level where you will be able to run the game pretty well without having to dial settings so low that it becomes a problem.

Like it or not, DCS is built on old foundations and until more of that foundation is redone, it will not properly take advantage of high-end hardware like a more modern game will.

The big things to keep in mind.

1.) DCS needs strong SINGLE CORE speed. Having a ton of cores isn't going to help as much here and to be blunt, this is where going Intel has historically been a better plan.

2.) While it is "possible" to run DCS off a normal hard drive, it will inevitably give you stutter problems. You really should plan to install DCS on a SSD and make sure you also plan for at least 200 gigs of space being used if you really start to get into it.

3.) 32 gigs of RAM just makes the sim run better overall. You can technically start the sim with 8 gigs and do okay on very, very small scale stuff with only 16 gigs but DCS might as well have 32 gigs as the outright recommended since it really benefits from having that much to work with.

4.) A good GPU with a lot of VRAM matters here. Obviously having a quick GPU is a big help but since DCS deals in such large, high resolution textures, you will want enough VRAM to handle that without having to start swapping with slower system ram or your hard drive.

I know some will debate this but on a practical level, DCS just needs a lot of RAM (both system and video) in order to run well.

startrekmike I haven’t tried DCS on my new system yet but is this good enough for 1440p and pretty high settings?

i9-10900k / RTX 3070 / 32GB DDR4 RAM @ 3200 / 960GB SSD / 4TB HDD

EDIT: The 3070 has 8 GB of VRAM and if need be I can go out and grab a 3090 for the VRAM (though I would like to avoid if possible).

My main concern would be the GTX 760 as it only has 2GB vram. Unless you have a 7200 rpm HD, expect 4-7 min loading times (perhaps 2 min with a good SSD).

As DCS is a free dl with 2 flyable aircraft, you can give it a try on med-low settings (provided you have a basic joystick or controller (keyboard not recommended but possible). With a 500GB or greater SSD and a GTX 1050Ti 4GB or better you should be good for smaller SP missions and 2-4 player coop.

Larger missions/MP with lots of AI units require better specs.

But be aware that DCS 2.7 with volumetric clouds is expected in the 2nd quarter and may require better specs i.e. 8GB vram, OTOH the Syria map likely already has that requirement.

Give us a report once you can, I'd expect that system to be pretty competent, hard to imagine that more 30xx would be much necessary, but a hands on test would be of course a good thing, it being your money and all :lunar2019smilingpig::cozybethesda:

It runs good on my AW M15R3 i9 10980HK, 32GB, 2x512GB NVME in RAID 0 + 1TB NVME, RTX 2080 Super Max-Q, 4K OLED + AW 3420DW (Also have an AW Amplifier for when I can buy a 30 Series Card), Tobii Eye Tracker, TM Warthog HOTAS.

Tobii Eye Tracker is awesome. I need to get one for my 34 inch Monitor.

I've got 16 GB RAM & I've stuck to single player while I learn the controls, my question is how would I differentiate between heavy & lite missions? Haven't seen any performance issues yet but would like to know what to avoid.

Got i7 10th Gen 12MB Cache, up to 5.0 GHz, 6 cores, 16GB DDR4-2933MHz, 2x8G, 512 SSD, 6GB VRAM GTX 1660ti

I now have my new PC, DCS runs incredibly well at 1440p with the settings cranked up.
