Low Hotas stand
Hi all.

I finally went full (wart) hog and got a decent HOTAS. However, I play on a beanbag as my TV stand is pretty low, so playseat etc all come up much too high. I'm looking for a good HOTAS stand but both throttle and stick need to be quite low to the ground. The lowest wheel stand pro etc come up are about 45 cm...and I need about 25cm ish.

Any ideas? I'm not hugely crafty-i could probably do a thome made throttle stand but the stick will need more stability than I can do. I'm not far off buying a monstertech stand and sawing off the excess height (or it will be in line of sight to monitor)..any more graceful ideas?

Cheers

Matt

Thanks Rich. Yea I looked at the playseat airforce but it comes up too high. I'm a little trmped on the next level f g t, but ideally want to tidy it away a bit easier-if the f g t lite gets a flight pack that might work...but that's why I was considering the monstertech stands.

Ok, now I can only picture fighter pilots being seated in beanbag chairs.

I bought a HOTAS mount from J Pein, a South Korean company.
At the time, about a year ago, I bought mine for about $69 from Amazon. A lot cheaper than Monstertech and with an overnight delivery time.
I bought a second one for my throttle.
There is attachment hardware for a pair of MFD's if you have them. These mounts have been strengthened with a double beam design to correct an instability issue mentioned in one of the early customer reviews on Amazon. I highly recommend this product. These are advertised on Amazon today at $64.99

About a week ago I made a stand for my x52 pro. Its for a full size chair but you could easily cut down the poles to size.

1 inch pvc pipe and joints essentially a rectangle with square formations at the top for hotas and some support in the middle to make it rigid, and on the bottom so it doesn't tip.

A few hours of work and about $100 worth of PVC. Sits in the corner when not in use. Used hex head screws, pilot hole, socket extension in a drill ezpz to attach, doesnt jiggle. Happy to share pictures if you are interested.

PVC would probably work well, were it me I'd use 2" PVC, glue the top (deck) rectangle and leave the legs free to slip out of their T joints for storage. One 10' piece of PVC, four elbows and four tees per side, screw 6.5 mm ply or masonite to the PVC as decking.

Contact MONSTERTECH, they can customize their products to fit your needs.
Any cheaper alternatives?

See my post #7 in this thread. The OP only wants to get a few inches up from the floor, no need to spend much money on the project.
Thanks all, and yeah, I missed that post.
