Playing DCS on a GTX 1050
I've tried playing DCS on a GTX 1050 and it is unplayable, is their anyway I can adjust the graphics to be able to run it decently?

Honestly? Beyond dropping every setting as low as it will go, there really isn't much you can do. The GTX 1050 just doesn't really have the punching power to deal with DCS on any practical level. As it stands, the 1050 is well below the minimum requirements as listed on the store page.

Huh. I actually didn't believe you here and went and looked.. TIL I'm playing DCS with the "minimum" system requirements (I run a 1070). I suspect this is more of a VRAM issue than anything else.

GTX 1050 is not the best one for DCS but I can run it on my 1050 TI pretty smooth, some settings set to high while others on low

Lowering the resolution, 2GB framebuffer isn't enough for DCS at FHD

Check game's requirements. Discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX VEGA 56 with 8GB VRAM or better.

My laptop has GTX 1060 with 6GB of VRAM. I'm using 98% of my GPU running it with mostly high setting and I'm getting 30-55fps on the Syria map. So if up grade your GPU i don't think you need to go super high end. For me anything over 25fps is playable but that just me.

i play it with a GTX 960 4GB, so you should be able to with your 1050 aswell. mind that the performance has suffered a LOT from the last update. before i easily had 60 frames on low settings with medium textures. i hope they'll improve that soon. also keep in mind DCS can fill up 12 GB of ram in no time, at least since the update. i never checked before, cause i didnt have issues back then.

I have a GTX 1050 card and 16 GB of RAM ... FPS at 20-30 (absolutely does not interfere with playing) at the ground and 30-45 at altitude in flight. I play solo missions and campaigns without any problems. My graphics settings are above average. Try lowering the quality of the earth and shadow textures, and turning off or lowering some anti-aliasing.

Turn off SSAA, you can use MSAA only instead. Turn off SSLR also, this setting eats FPS as a mad while adding a litle to the image quality. I personaly haven't noticed any changes when it turned on, only FPS reduction.

There is another way that may, or may not help you, but it worth trying.
Disable the in-game "VSync", then close the game, go to "NVidia control panel" and enable a "Fast VSync" for "DCS World". Be carefull do not enable it globaly or it may affect other games too. With this tweak, you may get around 60 - 100 FPS, or you may not, but as I already mentioned, worth trying.

Pay attention! Doesn't matter which graphics settings you change in DCS World, re-launch the game after changes. Some graphics setting will re-launch it automatically, while others not. But it doesn't mean that the settings will be applied on-fly. In the most cases they will not and you have to restart the game in order to apply them.

I play on a laptop with 965m
Works ok >30fps if not too many units nearby.

You'll want to drop down to version 1.5.7 which gives you 60fps with a GTX1060 (basing it on my setup)

Im a win7 peasant... Version 2.5.6 runs great on a GTX970
Suprize... If you have a DCS friend...
2.7.x also runs fine on Win7 with my GTX970 on pretty low gfx.
But with the open beta update frequency its a pain to do.
If only ED had added an 'update anyway' option to the updater. I dont need their support.

Yeah, I'm playing on a gtx 750 2gig, with 3.2 ghz quad. Every setting low. I Wish they keep the moderate gaming machines in mind with these updates. With these extreme price hikes on gpus and scarcity of them everywhere, am stuck with this setup.

While you might consider yourself a win 7 peasant i would wager that most think of win 7 being superior to win 10. I do.

I like the UI of 7 better than 10, but under the hood Win 10 is vastly superior to 7.
