DCS World Steam Edition

DCS: Marianas
I tried downloading the content but steam says I already have it. Problem is, I can't find it in the game. Anyone else have this issue?

Are you on Open Beta?

Nope, DCS World Steam.. Don't I have the correct game?

Open Beta is the version of DCS. You're probably using the Stable version.
But what do you mean by "I can't find in the game"? Did you try to make a mission using the map? Or tried to play a mission on the map? Do you see the icon on your main menu?

Also, check your DLC list. Try and "untick" and then tick again, just keep in mind, if you actually have it downloaded and installed, this will uninstall and you'll have to download again, but it may solve the problem... I think... :p

This happened to me. I was on Open Beta when I downloaded Marianas. I then switched to the numbered Beta and re-downloaded it without success. I performed an integrity check and nothing. I reverted back to Open Beta. Re-downloaded it and success. All that and I still kept getting this not authorized message about the Gazelle from a a trial period which is truly annoying. I fixed that by buying and installing the damned thing. lol.

About the trial modules. To not have such a message, you need to uninstall the trial module by going to the DLC section of DCS world and unchecking it. Then you need to go to your steam profile (click on your profile's name in the right upper corner) and click on "about account" in a dropdown menu. Then on the oppened page, you have to click on "Licenses and keys activation". Then you will see all your licenses for all games. You need to find the gazelle trial key and remove it. And this is all. But if you will not uninstall the DLC from DCS's DLC section first, then the DLC will stay on your HDD even if you will remove the key and after the trial period ended you would not be able to remove it from DLC section because it won't be there anymore, but it will stay on your HDD even if the license is already removed. So you will need to delete it from your HDD manualy to get rid of the license expired message. But don't try to remove the license now or you will loose your perchased gazzele. It is just for the future, so you will know how to uninstall the trial DLC in a propper way.

Select openbeta from the drop down.

Got it to work! I right clicked on DCS, went to properties, and set to open beta! So awesome!!

The difference between steam version and the standalone that I have seen so far are some of the mods are not compatible with steam ver, and the steam ver has a few visual bugs, and steam gets items much later than the standalone also I prefer to give the creators the money for the work they do rather than steam take a percentage.

edit: just been on the dcs site and looked at some of the models to purchases and found most are not compatible with steam, have a look https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/

The meaning behind the "incompatibility" is that you can not transfer your licenses to the Steam edition.

In all my hundreds of hours not once have I had a problem where I'd be unable to play with the standalone people, or where they would have different content.

And you will once again have to elaborate when it comes to the graphical bugs.

On the steam ver I have the zoom in cockpit bound to the rotating thumb thingy when I zoom I seem to get a glitch jumping effect, but on the dcs from the site I don’t get it this also happens when I use F1/F2 for ext view.

Im super new in dcs so im still learning everything from scratch.

I... can't say I ever observed that.
