Spitfire keeps pitching up
I need help. My bird just keeps pitching up regardless how much trim I give her. This only occurs in instant action missions. During training it doesn't happen. Can anyone confirm? I mean it just wants to go up at rate of 20-30 degrees pos AOA in 3-5 seconds. Flaps fully retracted, gear up, doesnt matter how much throttle I give or direction of travel. My trims are also set correctly because i can trim her to near perfect in training.

Nothing wrong with my stick. Does not happen with any other module or game.

Thanks in advance.

Trim works fine, Check your controls.

I figured it out. I had it on game flight mode. Apparently there's a bug where trim doesnt work on game flight mode. Ty

Ive got some similar issues with the 109. I just got it yesterday so dont know if its a bug or just a quirk of the 109.
Sometimes start of instant mission it may pitch up but I can deal with that and trim.
My issue is most times for EX:
I can be in mild left turn at a 200 IAS or more and if I try to bank right about same degrees as left it either does nothing, slowly starts to go in a right bank or sometimes at first nothing then suddenly and violently snaps level or right and the 109 is all over the place.
Ive played with curves etc... but sometimes the 109 feels to responsive and mostly uncontrollable.
I can fly the P-51 and P-47 and never experience anything close to what I describe.

Does this sound like a bug, controls issue, or just the nature of the 109?

Ive only tried in instant action dogfight to try and get familiar with the 109 but out of the hour and half I tried i was able to only score 6 hits on a Spit, not normal for me. P51 and P47 I can usually get 2-3 of those planes in same mission splashed.

Read the manual ;) Also mind one thing. The 109 does not have hydraulic power booster.

I have no complaints with the P-47, the 109 well not liking it so far.

Lol I'm learning towards the p47 but I'm concerned if I opt in open beta my performance will suffer. I finally got my graphics settings tweaked to where its smooth and stable on vr. Did you notice any negative impact on performance?

Im not playing in open beta, Im on stable version and it works just fine. I have never installed the openbeta version....ever. And I do mean the P47 is working great in stable, I think the steam page isnt up to date. I didnt even catch the beta part myself....lol it was late.

109 always pitvhes up set it to nearly full down at around 450kph but in a dogfight remember to rest the trim in the 109

Thanks, Yeah I got that part but the odd no control then violent snaps is killing me. No other module I fly does anything close to the 109. Its the reason I asked so it seems so out of place in the control aspect.
Ive watched some vids of others flying the 109 and have yet to see anything even close to what its doing to me.

I'm finding these old warbirds hella hard to fly in DCS. Bandits seem to fly circles around me and if I try to counter I either stall or break apart. lol.

Well it sure isnt IL-2...lol.
I find the p51 and p47 fine, of course I do better in P51 against 109's than I do in P47 but at least in those 2 I can down planes...hell least Im able to even hit them with guns.

But the 109 acts like it is constantly trying to kill me and seems to have a mind of its own. I havent played in a couple days since Im waiting on my new VKB rudder pedals and my trackir to get here.
My trackir 4 fried finally after many years and my old rudder pedals, TM T-Rudders I absolutely hate. Trying to use those with their sticky like friction is maddening.

The AI does cheat to some degree, their planes do stuff they really shouldn't, especially how they shrug of damage.

I gave up on the Americans I did better in the P51, but it's style didn't suit me.
I went back to the Spitife and it's much better, just keep turning and turning, let the 109 zoom up and down, you just keep and eye on him. Try and drag him low, then when he enters the turn on you, you'll over take him and he's dead. At least if you know how to hit, something I don't, so even if I have full control 9f the 109, he can't escape. I'll still run out of ammo before I finish him off.
