Without addons around 80 gigs. With addons (specially with the terrain addons) the size can be up to 250 gigs.

The terrains are relatively with high details. The Caucasus is one of the biggest battlefield in DCS. Around 250 000 square kilometers.

My DCS steamfolder is 178GB.
During sale though I have some additional maps and some additional modules installed for testing purposes.
You should calculate 130-150GB!

And I mean SSD-storage not HDD. I bought a 2TB SSD last year.
DCS must be installed on an SSD or you will have performance problems.

Yep. Sorry. You'll need ~150GB of free SSD space or you won't have fun here.

Well, then what are you waiting for? ^^
You've got enough space.

By the way, you don't have to download 150GB.
The download is way smaller.

And one more thing:
Opt into the DCS open-beta (right click on DCS, Options, Betas, open-beta). After that go to the DLC store pages and press the PLAY button for each module that you wanna download (repeat).

Recommendation:
- F/A18C Hornet for the start
- Supercarrier
- maybe some maps but not necessary (Persian Gulf / Syria / Nevada / etc)

And then play all the tutorials!
Have fun!

Yes, but the files are packed to lower the download size as much as possible. After that it is unpacked. The game without addons have around 80 GB.

You will be able to use it. Just do not try the terrain addons.

I don't know your system specs. It could be helpful to know them to help you with the system preset.

I would like to know your CPU, GPU, RAM, drive and its size (SSD or HDD)
DCS:World is RAM hungry. So if you don't have too much, it would be good to do some preventive steps like manually set the page file to higher values.

If you want something lighter, without need of HOTAS, trackIR (or equivalent) get Ace Combat 7. It is nice arcade sim. DCS will need HOTAS and TrackIR anyway and if storage is the problem, well, anyway, You are not yet in flight sims. They all eat a LOT :)

I'm at 280GB with addons.

I have 152 GB and I just started last August. I only have FC3 and two HF modules. But I have three maps (including Caucasus), which is what it takes more disk space. I don't have any third parties mods yet.

I will add that by downloading the free game, you will need about 80 gb of storage and will have plenty of fun hours with the SU-25T to start with.
