Mouse control of view in F2 Solved
I have found yet another way to shoot myself in the foot it seems. For reasons I can't fathom (I've really really have tried to figure this out) for all of my aircraft that I have been flying I have lost the ability (which used to be there) to move the camera around when in F2. Now I go to F2 and have a view from the front or side of the aircraft, and can't move the camera around at all, just locked in that view.

I just bought a couple of new aircraft on which I haven't made any bindings whatsoever, and if I start an instant session like takeoff and hit F2 I can fly the camera to wherever I'd like, as I'm used to, so things start out ok with a virgin AC. The num pad keys still control the camera in external view as I assume they should (never used nm pad before as I was just a mousey guy but I thought I should test ). I sure hope that I am missing something simple :steamfacepalm:

And it was simple, thankfully. I was looking in the All list for missing commands, and mouse control of the camera in F2 is a set of AXIS commands, and axis commands don't show up under the All list. Once I added in the missing (Mouse_x, Mouse_y, Mouse_z) commands under Mouse in the Axis lists, all became well again.

You don't accidentally have the comms menu open do you? I do that all the time and takes me a minute to realize what happened.

Thanks for the suggestion, but no. The problem is persistent...exit the game and return still the same. F2 take me to external view just fine, but I can't move the camera with the mouse.

I can use the stick pov to pan around F2. Maybe you are using it to bind something else.
And definitively I can also view around with the mouse.

And as Orlock mentions, an opened upper right comm menu deprives me to pan around.

I'll just note that the solution suggested did work for me as well, but I had to select the current plane before choosing its axis controls (e.g. the F/A-18C), and then add the Mouse_x, Mouse_y and Mouse_z
