I hear this map doesn't have a detailed Iraq or Kuwait on it. Just an unpopulated empty space.

Kuwait I can live without. Does anyone know if ED has a plan to add a detailed Iraq to the map? Given some recent conflicts, not sure why they would miss the opportunity but I didn't see anything official... Unless they consider this project is done already of course.

You're correct about Iraq/Kuwait. Even much of Iran is incomplete (like Kharg Island). The map is no longer in Early Access, and it hasn't seen new features in a long, so I'd say it's done.

It's more of a Strait of Hormuz map than Persian Gulf map.

That's a shame. I wouldn't mind paying for $10 for an upgrade to have Iraq and Kuwait.

I mean we have many time appropriate jets for Iraq war and ISIS fights...

Now that I've tried all the maps, thanks to the free play, I feel PG is probably the worst map.

I would also pay for an upgrade. The full gulf is included. It just needs detail for Iraq, Kuwait and northern Iran.
