That is one of my favorites. Either solo or with others I would fly that and I was just explaining this mode to see if I would be able to do something like that in the editor even.. I wasn't expecting that level but if I could get close that would be cool.
I know the pacing is different in dcs but I'm not concerned with it. You have so many systems to manage and make sure things are right that gives me excitement so I'm good in that regards.
Get Gazelle. I got it and liked it. It has a different flight control than other helos. I won't comment on the realism since I've never flown one. But I think it's fun. 4 heaters are 4 more than the huey has. Jets better kill you from range or first pass or they're in serious trouble. It's even more dangerous than an A10 in close quarters since it can literally turn in place.
I have the Ka50 but never got around to learning it.
The heuy, gazelle, persian gulf and a harrier in my cart. I already got back into my ka-50 and I plan on being able to take both my aircraft I have right now to a MP server to attempt missions.
I want all the heli's but decided not to get the Mi-8 just yet. Once I get familiar and comfortable with my two modules I'll move on to the other three.
Ka-50 does work. Best I heard it being described was it's an A-10 that can hover.
I originally wanted the gazelle due to its role and also how nimble it is. Its interesting because I changed my mind at one point because I was reading about how horrible the flight model is on it but as I kept reading the pro gazelle pilots came out and nullified their arguments.
Apparently there was a review from a gazelle pilot and he rated the flight model at 95% spot on which then lead to a discussion that people just had incorrect expectations on how it should fly. Keeping in mind it's weight.
When you fly the gazelle what do you do and how is it in mp servers.
For the the price of the choppers with the sale I don't mind the gazelle being a one trick pony.
Its the reason I have the modules I do and I hope they all compliment each other well when I put them in mp servers.
I wouldn't be to keen on the gazelle or the huey if they were my one and only modules.
Seeing how I really don't care for A2A and establishing air superiority I plan on using my mig-21 as a main bomber/interceptor even though it's at a disadvantage with a f-15c as a back up in case I want to be viable.
So I'm looking at primarily hunting with my ka-50 and mig 21 while using my other aircraft for extra stuff.
The Ka-50 is probably easy to fly compared to the other helicopters, with its contra rotating rotor.
I heard later they are adding in more attack helicopters, so it won't be as special then.
I heard the Gazelle isn't so great and not as realistic or accurate they say, as the Huey or probably Mi-8.
Also, when folks say novelty they must mostly mean it is not really that heavily armed or meant to primarily be a transport or some other logistical role, trainer, or etc... I disagree and think there is a place for such a/c and it doesn't supersede other factors like how realistic the flight model and a/c systems are etc. Several others aren't that armed or armed at all, as well. It's about the flying.
its interesting to read about the debate over the flight model. at first i wanted it but then changed my mind based off of what i was reading online about its handling and such.. however as i kept on reading there was an article posted from someone with actual flight time that said it was 95% on. the article and then discussion go on to talk about how the weight differential between the huey(how many expected the gazelle to handle) and how nimble the gazelle is in game.
after reading this i quickly loaded it back in my cart.. the only chopper i don't own is the Mi-8 which i will get down the road. I was trying to piece together a good fleet with the sale and so there was a lot of back and forth considerations with them.
im not looking for a heli pvp. what im trying to do is have an understanding of how things would work for me in a pvp/pve server which is where i want to spend most of my time.
the reason i ask is because i want to see how i will be utilizing each module that i have. for example i own a mig-21 and wanted to know how well i would be able to do bombing runs in server. i know that people dogfight with it but i don't have any interests in dogfighting.
its just a general question to get some info. as in arma things are completely different on the multiplayer side of the house with a lot of players not liking them at all. those players can not give me a detailed description of what a play session would play like because they never play those session.
