Fire and Forget missile ability...
Would love to see some Future Russian jet module with an ability to fire those fire and forget missiles. As of current, the the most blue side jets have fire and forget ability and thats a big game changer. The upcoming F-18 and F-14 modules would be a bigger game changer.

So would there be any Russian jets with Fire and forget ability? at least any plans for that in future?

So far only the Mig 29S has that ability...

Would be nice for sure, but it always comes down to the needed documentation to model these things. Would be nice to see an Ru fighter full module after the F/A-18C, just have to wait and see what they have planned.

With the upcoming modules like the F-18C and lets not forget F-14 with its special fire and forget AIM 54 missile and the long range radar. Both those modules are big game changing. Its like a one sided fight.

F-18C can carry 10 AMRAAMs and the F-14 can carry a max of 6 AIM 54.

Russia side is completely useless and the only aircraft playable with the fire and forget active radar is the Mig 29 ...but its does not have an EFM or PFM model just yet.

If only they DCS could give the Su 33 an option for R77 and I'm sure the current real life Su 33 has that ability with the upgrades. There are versions of R27 with active radar ability too.

For example Su 27 with its SARH missiles, but those are uselss against Western jets armed with AMRAAM. We have to maintain the lock till the missile hit the target and by that time they would have launched the AMRAAM and you'd be forced to evade, breaking the lock making the missile useless.

I can see in the forum DCS roadmap that upcoming jets have none listed on Russian jets that can carry Active Radar fire and forget missiles. I guess it wont be happening for a loooooong time.

I think people are forgetting we can make 80s based servers without actively guided missiles. I mean its only historically realistic to pit a 90s plane with 80s missiles to fight another with the same equipment. Not a 80s plane (the F-15) carrying mostly late 90s missiles (the AIM-120B/C). But that is just my personal opinion.

What we got is the 90s F-15C upgraded eagle carriying the 1996 version of the AIM 120C AMRAAM which is an improved missile. Its a good missile, high kill probable.

What makes our eagle a 90s variant? I thought it was a 1985 model MSIP II variant of the F-15C

You know... like some aircrafts go on their yearly updates ( which is what I meant) to keep up with the times. Software and other updates to carry some new missiles.

The AIM 120C delivery began around 1996. Its a good missile. The F-15C must have got the necessary update IRL to carry those new missiles.

Su 27 and Mig 29 stands no chance against the planes equipped with the high tech 120 AMRAAMs...especially the C variant. Their main advantage....i.e WVR abilities are rendered useless. I mean, I tried flying ground hug altitudes with radar off and for good measure. Stealth approach to planes equipped with those 120s are only possible in mountainous regions to make use of their WVR abilities.

This I know for sure. The F-15 from 1985 with MSIP II got the ability to carry and fire the AIM-120, but they werent ready since the testing AIM-120s were trash.

Funny enough I use head-on BVR against F-15s and it works. The AIM-120C is supremely dangerous but is no god of the BVR arena.

I didn't say 120C was god missile. What I meant was that its got high kill probability.

Head on..against an 120 equipped plane? Really?! It would be dumb luck....

Waiting for the Hornet module...pretty sure its got ability to carry 10 120s and that nice AG ability too. Seems like the new Flanker and Fulcrum killer.
