Any good CAS tutorial?
So I've recently bought the F/A-18C and I kinda learned how to somehow fly it a bit. However a friend now wanted me to do some ground attack missions with him. But that's probably the one thing I can't propperly pull off in my Hornet. I can get the occasional gun hit and maybe get a few hits using CCIP Bombing, but is there any tutorial out there how I can properly use Mavericks? and how I can use the pod to designate targets for my own missiles and stuff like that? CAuse I sadly found the in-game tutorials in that regard a bit... lacking

Thanks in advance.

You have several resources available:

- Chuck's guide
https://www.mudspike.com/wp-content/uploads/guides/DCS%20FA-18C%20Hornet%20Guide.pdf

- There are several tutorials on Youtube as well, but many are outdated.
Hornet's TPOD got updated recently, functionality has changed a bit, so I'm afraid you'll have to watch different tutorials (old and new) in order to get a complete picture of how it works.

Holy cow those videos came in helpfull. I really liked the PDF, but there is only so much I can understand by reading about something I don't get ;). However, it DID help with smoothing out my startup and my flight patterns (Didn't know there WAS a button to hold altitude.)

Thank both of you so much. This really helped me out

And this is why, I love DCS so far. The community here is so warm.

Like you, I have very recently sunk my teeth into the FA18 after this community recommended it as been a good starter plane. I have done the DCS tutorials, and now going to make my way polishing them skills before I even look at GBU deployment.

I have been watching Grim Reaper videos on YT, while great, the guy in some of them does talk / fly through the controls a little too fast so I will give the above a whirl as well.

Finally, as a newbie, if you need someone to crash, I mean fly with, add me - I have a mic.
