New admiral kuznetsov model
Is there a reason why I am unable to land or spawn on the new model of the admiral kuznetsov? Do I need the supercarrier mod or is there something im doing wrong?

Only the AI guys can land and take off from it if your using it in the mission editor.

You can download a mod from DCS site that makes the old model of Kuznetcov look like a new one. Don't know if it will work in multiplayer?

This is bad publicity for the A/F-18. It would mean that buying the aircraft module it can not be landed in the default carrier?

Any Plane can land on the other existing Carriers (but a hook comes in handy). It would surprise you to see how the Su-33 with full Loadout can Takeoff without a catapult even from the No.1 Short Run by using the Extra Afterburner.

It can land on the default carrier. He's asking about the new and improved Kuznetsov model that comes with the Super Carrier module.

I just put both Russian carriers on the water, put 3 Su-33 jets on each and had them launch together and flew. Myself and 2 wingmen from the old one and 3 AI from the new one. to get the AI to land you will still have to give them radio commands though I didn't try that yet because I'm still learning myself, but I did get them to take off and fly with me. The 3 AI on the New carrier did use the Afterburners with full Loadout.

Be sure you bind the "Extra Afterburner" if attempting Shortest Run which is another small boost above 100% Afterburner position.

If you want to take off Su-33 fully fueled and with full weapons loadout, make sure that your carrier is moving. Set it's speed to 60 km/h, otherwise if it will stand still, you can take off fully fueled and fully loaded only from runway 3, the longest one.

Su=33 Fully fueled shows 9.6t of 12t on the gauge. I can Takeoff on Shortest Run Spot 1 Full Fuel & Weapons as above. Ships are moving on designed Missions for this. I think it the heavy bombs that require more speed for Takeoff from the rear.
Here is proof: you see full Fuel & Weapons Takeoff from Slot1 although this Pilot did not require the extra distance for height to clear.
(note: EXTRA AFTERBURNER is a bind)

I know that it is possible. But carrier have to move, I didn't test which minimum speed is required, so I just set it to 60 km/h. What I do know for sure, that if carrier will not move, it will be impossible to take off from runway 1 and runway 2 while fully fueled and loaded, but it is still possible from runway 3 (the longest runway). When carrier is not moving, you have to fuel the plane to about 60% in order to take off from runways 1 and 2. But you can always refuel in the air. It is not that hard with Su-33.
