Issues Trimming the Huey.
Hi everyone. I'm newish to DCS and the Huey, and I'm still figuring things out. Anyway, I fly with a Thrustmaster Warthog joystick and it works great. I find the force trim hard to use, so I've assigned cyclic bank left/right, cyclic nose down/up to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ switch and rudder left/right to the MIC switch on the TMWH Throttle. When I correctly trim the Huey using these switches, it can hover as solid as a rock. The problem I am having is that these switches work too quickly and I often go past where I want to be trimmed at. Can these inputs be slowed or the rate edited somewhere?
Thanks.

I fly the huey a lot, I also have the TM warthog. My advice would be just keep practicing with the force trim button. I have mine set to the pinky button on the stick. Keep the control indicator up on screen, ctrl+enter, and learn where the stick should be trimmed to during different flight profiles. It's always pretty much going to be the same. Then you can just trim the stick to that position quickly and efficiently, and make small adjustments from there. I wouldn't bother trying to trim with HATs.

OK ZeroReady, so I made something work using Voice Attack and key binds. I managed to adjust the rate of increments by adjusting the length of the Voice Attack key press....and it worked, but not as well as I'd hoped. It ended up being quite fiddly and not very effective, but I'm glad I tried it, just to know.
I'll take your advise and keep practicing with the force trim.
Thanks.

If it helps, when I fly the huey, I am almost constantly adjusting stick position and pressing force trim while maneuvering. Only when I'm stable on a course and speed do I stop adjusting.

You can adjust the curves to make the input less sensitive near center position which gives you more precise input. The best solution is the joystick lenght extension or the stick with better centering mechanism. E.G. the Virpil stick. Also in special options menu you can turn on central position trimmer mode. This will freeze the controls input after releasing the trim button to avoid the "bump" caused by stick without force feedback.

P.S. officialy it is not called trim, but the magnetic brake. Its purpose is to turn off all forces applied to stick while the button is held. Once the button is released, the new neutral force position of stick is set. Of course this behaving is not possible to simulate with joystick without FFB.
