I own ka50, huey, and the gazelle. i would choose the gazelle over all of them in a heart beat. it is such a pleasure to fly in any situation in my opinion.

Gazelle is super easy to fly.

huey if you want a helicopter like a helicopter should be, Mi-8 if you want exactly that but more power and a unique looking cockpit, Gazelle if you want an auto trimmed agile helicopter that's crap af to get into auto hover to fire missiles :)

Thats why you dont fire a missile in hover mode xD much easier to fly and its harder to hit you

I would suggest the Huey as I find it the most easy and enjoyable to fly among the DCS helos. Also its one of the most realistic helicopter sims out there according to real Huey pilot that tested the DCS module.
Mi-8 also feels great and it can deliver quite a punch on enemy forces.
Dont have much experience with Gazelle but with Warthog Hotas it does not feel enjoyable at all compared to Huey for me.

My ranking is, from first-to-last: Gazelle, Huey, then Mi-8.

Gazelle is the 'easiest' of the bunch to get into and start pushing things to their limit. You might crash on occasion.

Huey is a good all-around helo for a balanced challenge. Expect to crash.

The Mi-8 is the "schoolbus of the sky". Crashing is obligatory.

I have the Mi8. It’s a Beast. Majestic. Thiccboi. Very powerful. Faster than Huey and gazelle. Very easy to fly. Not too easy to land at first since it’s heavy weight can make it fall out of its own lift if you descend too quickly. But it’s a joy to learn.

UH-1H is for me the most fun to fly. It is the most "raw" helicopter experience in DCS. It has only very simple mechanic stabiliser. So the pilots experience is the most important. Because of it, this helicopter is best to use for learning to fly with helicopters.

MI-8 is the second one. I like the analogue systems a lot. It is just chalange to learn and master them. Also it is just the big one helicopter. Very nicely sensitive to controls. It has gyroscopic based stabilisation augmentation. But sometimes, it needs to be manually adjusted to work properly.

Gazelle - very small, agile and powerfull one. This helicopter uses something like Fly-By-Wire. Its behaving is very different in comparsion with other available helicopters. By stick you don't directly control the surfaces, but much more you controll the pitch/roll rate. Just like at FBW aircraft. This made me quite a lot of problems to learn to fly with it until I got this. Once you get this, you will find it is the easiest one to control. Also it is multicrew compatibile. Pitty the multicrew compatibility in Gazelle still have quite annoying issue. You have to fresh load the game, join any server, select Gazelle. If you select different aircraft first or crash with the gazelle, both you and your mate have to restart the whole game to make it working again.
