F18 Navigation not working since last update
Hey

I just wanted to report something I have found after the last update. This could totally be my own fault but i can't find anything I am doing wrong.

Prior to the last DCS update i baught the F18 module and I was flying a few times. Everything worked and it was very cool.

But since the last update my HUD bearing and HSI is not working anymore nor is the backup compass. This only occurs if I start the mission with the aircraft cold and dark. So it might be a problem with my startup checklist. Has something been changed in terms of the startup procedure since the last update?

If i start the mission from a runway or in flight everything works as it should.

Do you let INS align?
Try to hot start
or when in cold start switch the ins knob to GRD (not to IFA)

I checked it today and it works.
I have the same problem when using hot start from a carrier (switched dial to CV) Don’t know if it’s more realistic now and I need to wait for INS to align before takeoff or some other setting needs inputting or if it’s a glitch. Always worked fine before the update is all I know!
For Carrier Take Off:
Set INS to CV
Wait for OK
Set to NAV
DO NOT MOVE DURING ALIGNMENT PROCESS!!

Works fine as of last night
Ahhh I must be taking off before it’s sorted itself out then. Where does the OK Display?

On the HSI page
Many thanks :)

What do you mean?

I set INS to GND or CV as usual.

I set INS to GND or CV as usual.

Then you have to wait until there is "OK" message on HSI page. Once it is, you can set INS to NAV or IFA and start moving.

I'll try. Thanks for helping.
