x56 profile not working please help
Hi so I've been trying to find a solution for this for the last 4 hours...

I have a Saitek X56 Rhino H.O.T.A.S and i spent the time making a complete profile for my F15-C as I like to play in VR and have as little immersion break as possible I have 3 mode selections on my throttle and i have taken the extremely long process of mapping as many of the really important key binds to my particular preference but for some reason in game the profile doesn't work i used the logitech hud for the x56 to program every key and its SUPPOSED to input as the keyboard binds when i press the corresponding button however nothing is working and i cant find any solution via youtube or on here any help would be lovely. thank you

Sorry if this doesn't help
Have you enabled your newly created X-56 F-15 profile in windows?
In windows next to the time (bottom left corner) select the up arrow on taskbar,
right click the green x-56 Rhino Icon and make sure the profile you want is selected.
Every time you restart windows you must select the profile you want for the game as it always reset to the logitech default profile.
Or alternatively if you have the x-56 profile software open, and are in the joystick or throttle programming section next to the new, load, save, views icons (top left) there is a blue & white target cross hair icon which also will load your profile, essentially doing same as 1st paragraph.
Every time you make changes to your profile and save it you must press this icon to load the newly saved profile into memory or they wont reflect on the actual joystick or throttle.

Are you saying you made the profile out of the game? If you move a keybind config file into the folder, you have to go into the game and load it before the binds show up. "Load Profile" or something along the top part of the settings screen for the "Adjust Controls" section.

Just throwing that out there, too.

Edit: Ah, I think Rapt0r mentioned that?

Hmm I'll definitely try this when I get on again and see if it helps thanks. And yeah made a profile in the x56 programing software that comes stock with the hotas. It just isn't translating to the game I did try the load profile but I guess it didn't work I will try raptors solution next time

I had the same problem with some versions of the software and drivers for X-56.
These versions work for me: Software 8.0.134.0 / Driver 8.0.116.0

Hope it helps.

I don't see how it's relevant here.
On a side note, I also have the Warthog stick. I ditched it in favor of the X-56 because of its friction and lack of out of the box versatility.
So if I was the OP I'd also try to fix my problem because overall the X-56 is a good HOTAS in my opinion.

I had this problem as well, and it turns out that if you're plugged into an unpowered usb hub (mine is in the form of some usb ports on my monitor) the profile doesn't seem to work.
If you run the test mode (the little gear icon on the x56 profile config screen) it will be responsive to mouse clicks and keyboard presses but unresponsive to x56 inputs.

I plugged the stick directly into my computer (and presumably a powered hub would work too) and the test mode became responsive to inputs from the stick.

Also an X-56 user. Happy with the HOTAS layout (haven't used a warthog, but this one seems rather versatile in comparison thanks to more sliders/analog axes). But I definitely feel your frustration around the profile loading!

As someone commented up thread, one issue that if you use the Logitech profiler, you will need to load your profile manually fairly often. In particular, I've noticed that if DCS rescans the input devices, it seems to override the profiling and revert to the internal bindings for the X-56. So if you have a USB hub that is inconsistent in maintaining a connection (as someone mentioned up thread), or you have virtualized devices you connect/disconnect (e.g. a head tracker you need to reboot periodically), you'll have to frequently panic and tab out to the Logitech profiler and reapply your profile.

Another warning I'd give is around binding items with modifier keys (shift, CTRL, ALT, etc...) in the profiler. If you are using a "held" keypress (e.g. the slide-and-lock button, or the rotational axes mapped to bands), then including a modifier key means that modifier gets stuck down the entire time. This probably seems obvious when you think about it, but it sure caught me by surprise when my inputs stopped doing anything at all (even on the keyboard) because a modifier key was locked depressed. Not exclusive to the X-56 software, but I think the X-56 has more options for mapping held keys than most other sticks (owing to the large number of axes to play with).

This was exactly my issue. Thank you very much!

Worked for me, thanks.
