DCS World Steam Edition

SPEEDLINK Phantom Hawk SL-6638-BK Joystick
Anyone know if this stick is any good? And is it suitable for DCS?

I've had a Speedlink Black Widow for several years and it's been a good stick for the money and has lasted well but I've moved up to a Thrustmaster T16000M which is 10 times better for not much more money. The T16000M uses magnetic Hall sensors as used in the more expensive sticks which makes it a lot more precise to use which really helps in flight sims such as DCS

Cheers for the answer, I was looking at the t16000. It's either that or the speedlink and the su27. By the sounds of it the little extra for the t16000 is worth it.

It's alright if that is what you can afford but I would suggest saving a just a few £,$, whatever and get a Thrustmaster T flight Hotas X or even a Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro 2 which are on Amazon for about the same price as the Speedlink. I have had both of these, the Sidewinder first and it was okay as a starter joystick as it has twist rudder on it as does the T Flight hotas X which is what I bought next and they both have force feedback, I found them both to be pretty serviceable joysticks. It really depends on how seriously you want to play DCS I mean I just managed to save and bought a Warthog Hotas but I still miss force feedback and I had to buy pedals so another expense. It's up to you how much you think your going to play the game and if your able to spend the little bit extra to get get a better build quality and usability as I know someone who had a Speedlink and he said it was ok but the movement was quite sloppy and imprecise so fine adjustments in flight were really hard so it was frustrating when he was in the SU25 and trying to strafe ground targets, so all I can say is at the end of the day I would think about looking for used joysticks on Amazon you can get good deals I got the Sidewinder 2nd hand for £10 and it was good enough for me to play and know that I wanted to spend more money getting better equipment. So good luck and I hope to see you in the skys in DCS.
