HUD alignment
I am not sure whats happening here, but it seems, while I am flying, if I take a hard bank turn, the alignment of the HUD in coordination with the cockpit alignment is drifting left or right of my the nose of my F18. I thought perhaps something happened to my VR headset, so I swapped out of VR and tried a few flights again. Each time I bank hard, left or right, the alignment goes out of whack. I have tried resetting all graphical settings in both VR mode and normal mode. I am not sure whats happening. Anyone else experiencing this or anyone with thoughts on what may have happened.

The HUD is projected in your flight vector. If you use rudders for turning, then the HUD moves opposite way because your nose is not in the your flight vector.

Same for flying in crosswind. To see HUD you have to cage it. But in that case it won't show you the true vector.

The hud is fine. It's ur posture in your chair that's drifted. Sit up straight again.

Thanks man this is what was happening. However I feel more comfortable having the rudders on the twist option.(no rudders controller as of yet). Would there be a way to adjust this to counter the drifting action.

Then try to add some curve and/or dead zones for the rudder axis.

That makes sense. I know exactly what your refering to. Thanks again, I will play around with those dead zones.

it could also be wind. hit cage/uncage and it should recenter.

Use the cage button to cage it

Thanks to everybody that helped. I really think the rudder control remapping is what caused the alignment issues I was experiencing, and Troll Norris first response made me remember I remapped that on Friday and before that everything was working fine. I tried the cage/uncage as I initially thought that was the issue. The actual alignment would never centre down the nose again after the hard banking. I had remapped rudder control to my twist stick rather then on the throttle. After that I couldn't get any alignment and it felt like my air plane was literally twisted. I moved the mapping back to the throttle and didn't have the alignment issue anymore. So now I have remapped again back to the twist stick and am working on the dead zone thingy mentioned by Troll Norris.
