"Request Repair"

New player here, and I'm flying the viggen. Sometimes, the landing gear gets banged up, and I need to get that fixed in order to fly safely.

I noticed there is a request repair function for the ground crew if you are at a friendly airport, but this function does not seem to do anything. I've already tried it with the engines off, the cockpit open, the RPM at zero, and the power off. Everything.

I wait much longer than 2 minutes, but nothing ever happens. What's the secret to getting repairs?

Are you 100% certain the airfield is set to your cooalition in the editor?

I've found some airfields are a little buggy - but not too bad.. Some areas of the airport don't seem to repair. You have to move to the runway for example. I read somewhere, some airports need support vehicles present to repair and refuel and most airports have this equipment by default, but some don't.
Try turning off any main electronics in the Viggen to see if that helps. If you don't see "Wait 150 seconds for repair" then they definitely aren't attempting it.

On your FR-24 Radio Control Panel, there is a small round button on the top left called "Ground Intercom Button". Press that select ground crew and ask for repair. The ground crew will reply "copy" if successful. And of course airfield needs to be in your coalition.

Thanks for the replies. I have already checked these things. The ground crew always replies with "copy", but no countdown timer, and nothing ever gets done.

Does anybody else know?

I trashed my gear on a carrier landing in f18 an they would only repair it if i shut down the aircraft?

for flaming cliffs, the crew only repairs when you have it fully turn of and also the electric system and open the cockpit
