Can't talk to wingman on a custom mission

Hey everyone! I'm new to DCS and I've spent a great deal of time learning how to fly my beloved M2000 plus getting around the mission editor and all the game basics. I can say I am an average pilot and average new-player in DCS. The learning curve is a nightmare though! Right now I'm in the final steps of learning and I'm eager to finalize my custom missions and start having great fun.. the thing is as the title says. This little detail is getting on my way!


Any of you know a simple method to talk to my wingman? In mission editor I have checked the communication box and I'm tuned to the same frequency as he is. I can hear him and he is able to speak to me, but I cant find the specific command menu to reply back and give orders. I'm pressing the "/" on my keyboard but all I can do is talk to the ATC and the grand crew. I have no other option. It's the same on the ground and in the air. This is the first time I'm asking anything on a forum for DCS, but since I couldn't really find a definitive answer I'm posting it. I'm certain it's a simple thing I'm missing but for the love of me I can't figure it out.

I haven't flown the Mirage for a bit but I'm fairly sure you should be using either the dedicated Red or Green radios, which use their own key commands. Not the general 'communication menu' which is '/'. It is quite important that you activate the correct radio (Red or Green) based on who you want to talk to, especially in the campaigns.

I still cant find the proper menu for the wingman. Cant talk to him. We are in the same group same freq. He is talking to me but I cant find the menu to talk back. I press "\" and I've got ground crew and ATC.. I use easy communication I think. I couldn't find anything helpful on the manual for the wingman. Frustrating moments.. I guess I have to spent again a silly amount of time figuring it out instead of using that time to enjoy it. after 100hrs sigh
