dcs crashes on loading

ive just downloaded dcs world and the game loads but when i click free flight the game gets half way to loading then crashes saying dcs world is not responding... have i missed somthing here ??

Your GPU is too weak and with low video memory. You need at least GTX 760 with 4Gigs of video memory. Your graphic card has only 1GB of video memory.

argh right thanks im not to clued up on pc's so im guessing an upgrade is on the books :)

For playing with full graphics details you will need GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX VEGA 56, both with 8GB of video memory (VRAM) or better and 16GB RAM.

Also, just wait.

I thought the same had happened but it looks like the game goes through a lot of setup the first time you run it. Windows thinks the game has hung and reports 'not responding'

After a little while (sorry, i wasn't timing it) the disk activity light came to life and the game finished loading. Much of the previous advice isn't invalid though, it seems you will reduce your enjoyment if the game doesn't have the resources for all the shinies.

If you're new to this then good luck! I just D/Ld it myself and am lookng forward to getting to grips with it.

Currently looking for a decent Thrustmaster profile(s) as the SU 25 reacts.....oddly to the default HOTAS setup.

Yeah. Just dont click anything or tab out on game loading.

You wont like this answer, but its better to bind ur own keys in DCS.

I just downloaded the latest 2.5 patch. DCS worked great until now. Once the logon screen comes up my monitor goes from logon scree to black screen to no signal banner back to log on screen. I can still silect stuff but it keeps cycling like that until I exit. The other steam games work just fine. I have a gts-1070 card and a Acer Preditor monitor.

That's interesting. If it's a driver issue why didn't I have the problem before the patch? I played 2.5 for almost a week with no issues. Then I downloaded the patch and it started. That still seems like a DCS issue.

in 16GB you cann pack whole DCS :)) so the main DCS needet to play, you cann directly instal to you 16GB RAM :DD

The whole DCS 2.5 with all addons has over 100GB so your statements is not true. Clean DCS 2.5 instalation has around 50gigs.

yeah good luck with the frogfoot (and this is coming from a guy who flies the hornet with a thrustmaster hotas one)
