I don't see many Nevada maps for mutiplayer. Both are beautiful maps don't get me wrong, but if you I don't think you can go wrong with the Persian Gulf map. You can always get the Nevada map when it goes on sale.

Both my Portugese Friend :o)
I have NTTR an like it very much. It's pretty fun to Hover with the AV8B across the Strip. Nellis is lovely and many other Airports too. But for now i would wait for the Sale (End June?)
So, Persian Gulf today, and Nevada later when it's cheaper...just my Cents...

I have all the maps.
To be honest I think both Nervada and persian gulf i a bit boring.. ( I like the original map the most)
Yes there are more or less most details arround the biggest citys, and you find some roads in the desert and smaller cities here and there.
Both maps have mountains you can fly near and follow ect.

In my humble oppinion the persian gulf map is better than Nervada.
Reason are you can make many interesting scenarious with carrier ship ( exmaple with the f18 ) and mimic a US war with othern ations. Or play as one nation on one side of the water and another on the other side ect. Also if you like mountain flying then you can from dubai example attack iran and sneak in via the mountains.
Well there are many cool missions that can be made.
Also the map is huge, you can do some really long missions.
And it is more easy to find the enemy in the desert than in the original map where there are allot of trees and hills ect.. :)

What both maps have in common are that there are most detail near the large citys and other than that they seem a bit empty...

Actual i think that is maybe why they desided to make these maps since there properbly are less work than example the original map that have citys all over the place and so on.. it simply take less time to make dubai city, than place example 500 citys on the map of various size including trees, bridges ect.

Persian Gulf has a one significant advantage - its on the sea level and the air is more dense than in Nevada. If you own Harrier its more easy to do VTOL on Gulf map.

I learned my lesson to not buy maps anymore after buying Nevada. The multiplayer for Persian Gulf is thriving right now but I'm sure it will share the same fate as Nevada and die down and everyone goes back to Caucasus. This is if you happen to care about multiplayer.

NTTR is quite a good map, but doesn't offer a lot of opportunity unless you're trying to re-create red flag scenarios. People don't like buying maps to begin with, but it is fairly well made with a few minor issues. (VOR beacons only being receivable from the ground).

SOH/PG will probably be your best choice for multiplayer, since it offers separation between forces along with setting for a larger conflict. WIth the coming F-14, we will also be able to hold some great red vs blue scenarios with realistic aircraft. It seems to be pretty popular, and it's actually being worked on, while it seems like they've abandoned NTTR as they have the A-10 and Ka-50.

yes maps looks awesome :) im a fan of Free Flight :)
I dont know even how can shoot with my joystick xD

One more very important note - you CANT place carriers on lake in Nevada, I dont think it changed.

yap i have Harrier :)

So Nevada is not good for Harrier, you dont have sea for carriers and it has less variety than Gulf - I would buy Gulf map Mav :D
