You'll be fine, but you want more RAM (16GB). Many will also say to get an SSD. I just reinstalled it onto a new Crucial MX500 and the SSD does make it smoother, but the difference wasn't much.

SSD improved loading times by 4x for me, reduced in game stutter, and had plenty of room for other games and my operating system. You will want more memory, but I was fine playing with 6GB RAM @ 1033mhz with my i7 920.

You can run it with less RAM, but you'll have to turn something down. This is 2.5 though. If you want to run 1.5.8 (still available) 8GB is enough.

8GB is basically marginal now. I have 8GB/970GTX which was fine in 1.58 but, with 2.5 the load times are horrendous. Once a mission starts it is ok but, I regularly now see lockups/freezes when a mission ends, or swapping too/from the mission editor.
