Graphics card for Dell 9020 Mini Tower
I'm looking for a decent graphics card to run DCS. I thought about the Zotac GeForce GTX 1050ti Mini. I want to know if the GTX 1050ti mini as stated earlier will run on the Dell 9020 Mini tower with 12 gigabytes of RAM. If not please suggest one.

Thanks in advance

I would not suggest a GTX 1050 Ti, it's a budget gaming GPU and wouldn't handle this game very well nor many others out there. Get at the least a GTX 1060 6 GB or an even better value for your money a GTX 1660 Ti.

Also, don't go for 12 GB of RAM, go for at least 16 GB of RAM. 16 GB will work pretty well unless you're playing a very heavy SP mission. Playing MP my 16 GB of DDR4 RAM @ 2400 isn't much of an issue. If you plan on playing only SP and buying those campaigns go for 32 GB.

I'm using a Gigabyte GTX 1050Ti, as others have said it's a not a particularly strong card but it's sufficient to run DCS in 1080p with medium settings (without mirrors) and low terrain textures.

In a light self made mission you're perhaps looking at 45 fps on the ground and 60 fps in the air.

For a SP campaign like the A-10C's Piercing Fury, you're looking at perhaps 30 fps while on the ground and 40 fps in the air.

12 GB RAM is sufficient for SP/low textures - I upgrade from 12 GB to 16 GB (motherboard's max) but it felt like a 'nice to have' rather than necessity.

Running DCS off a SSD, helps limit/reduce micro stutter and IMHO became a must for 2.5.x but there's nothing stopping you testing the free DCS modules (Su-25T/TF-51D) first.

More memory and a newer (faster) cpu is needed for MP as most public servers have bigger missions with lots of AI ground units, etc.

Note: there's a fair chance you'll have a slightly newer cpu with faster single core performance than mine, so YMMV.

Generally, IMHO, you want to have for ##70 or ##80 cards, the ##60 and ##50 are basically get what you pay for, they will probably better in some areas, but for the most part, wont out perform say a 980 or a 970. My kid bought himself a 960 with his build a while back and ended up using my 760 GTX cuz it out performed that. So just be careful, do lots of research, there are lots of sites comparing performance out there. If you can afford it. look towards a 1070 or 1070ti at least.

DCS is not easy on computer components, so it will point out any weaknesses fast.

Thanks all. I'll look into your suggestions :)

980 ti here. Works pretty good even on high settings and some VR on low is doable. Check craigslist/facebook ads for a cheap used card. 1070 and up for good performance. CPU is quite important in DCS too it seems. What are you rocking for your processor?
