Does DCS allow two people to operate the same plane/helo?
Hey everybody,

Just like the title says, does DCS allow two players to be in the same helo or plane? one acting as the pilot and the other acting as a gunner/RIO? and I dont mean like a door gunner i mean like the role the CP/G has in an AH1 or AH64 (not sure what all helos are available for DCS).

-thanks

Yes there are multi-crew options depending on the aircraft. For example the F-14B :)

Outstanding, thank you pinenipple and Volcano. I actually prefer helos but i dont think the AH1 is in DCS and thats the one i want. But F14 sounds cool too...i might also look and see if the F15E is available.

thanks again =)

Thanks, i'll look at some MC vids of the Gazelle too and see how it looks. I still prefer the AH-1 though more than anything, but its not available for DCS so meh. I've had lots of IRL interactions with it (was in the AF used to load planes) and out of all the Army/Marine hardware i got to load i liked the AH1 the best and H-53's second.

For planes i would like to try those out eventually but for those my wanting to do that comes from movies. F14 from Top Gun (sorry...) A6 from Flight of the Intruder and F15E which isnt from a movie but from the old Janes F15 game.

The Gazelle is pretty bugged, there's been a kerfuffle with the devs for a while now. They may be putting more work into it soon, but they're also working on other modules and they're pretty short handed. I would reccomend the Huey over the Gazelle, but I've never tried to multicrew in it.

The Gazelle is the only DCS helicopter at the moment with multi-crew. But it is not very good. I have had it working as multicrew with one of our other squad members, but it is very bugged and it only worked correctly for us about 20% of the time. Although it is a good module otherwise, the multicrew is just too frustrating.

There is no multicrew for the Huey. They have talked about it for years, but there is no sign yet of it ever being implemented. It is still a nice module though.

I have used the C-101 as multicrew. This is functional, but it is more as a trainer, than a 2-crew combat aircraft, so it may not be what you have in mind.

(The F-14B and L-39 also have multicrew, but I've not tried either.)

Does the Gazelle still have doomsday missiles? I remember seeing some multiplayer gameplay a whileback where there was just a guy in a gazelle hovering in the middle of the map killing everything.

The F-15E is not currently in the game as a flyable module, the F-15C is the only eagle available, here’s hoping they add it in the future
