DCS not recognizing SaitekX52Pro?
Ay

So i booted up DCS world after a long hiatus. I installed a new GPU but otherwise don't remember making any driver changes to the joystick (saitek X52 pro). I haven't had the joystick plugged in for over a year maybe.

So i plug in the stick and the PC gives me a 'does not recognize USB devide' error.
I search for drivers and they're now under logitech (not sure if logitech owned saitek before, but i remember the old drivers, possibly the hard-copy disk version being noteably of Saitek branding)

So the problem is, i've imported across my old profiles for SU27, A10C, KA50 and they are not being recognized by DCS world. Even when loading DCS:A10C separate to DCS world the sim does not respond as it did originally.

Previously, B trigger(Button) would give me a weapon mode cycle (CCRP, CCIP, GUN, NAV) but now is inert. A trigger for some reason has been set to nosewheel steering... all the base-level functionality is gone and it won't allow me to use my settings.

Any similar experiences / help? i'm hunting for the old disc to see if i can try to rever to the old ways...

:(

And DCS is interpreting the stage 1 trigger (joy button 1) as POV hat up?
but so is the software............
so either wiring or software or both.

great :(

edit2: now that i've exited out of DCS the Trigger 1 is firing independant of POV hat up in software. what is going on lol.

plug your joystick into USB 3 port. Also check the binding in control options menu.

Another issue that could occur if you upgraded windows from say 7 to 10, is that the hardware ID that windows uses to identify your joystick has changed. The config files you saved point to one hardware id, but that no longer exists.

It could also be the change in drivers, Logitech recently took over Saitek, so that could be the problem also.

I think a re-install of the config files (sorry will loose bindings) should resolve your issue in either case.

hey thanks for the replies. The bindings are correct and the device is installed in a USB 3 port.

I have not updated from 7 (still on 7). I'm suspecting its the driver issue and possibly hardware (stick) given its old, and friends have abused it in past (at least as far as POV hat sticking into on position occasionally).

re-install of config files you mean just destroy the driver completely and reinstall or delete the configs i have and start fresh?
or something else?

Also, for some reason whenever i load a profile and go into programming the NVIDIA geforce experience popup shows :S

Yea I would try to clean uninstall the x-52 drivers first, and then re-install them. Make sure everything is working (buttons/axies) in the driver properties themselves first. If everything looks good there, then try to clean DCS World key-binding files.

I've never done it on this game before, but usually erasing config files (like keybinds), and then running the game (although you *may* have to verify file integrity first) should recreate default config files for the game.
Maybe someone here knows what method works best.

Well...
I booted it up today. I did zero changes. In the programming section i pressed the 'cog' symbol (which plays back your button press to confirm button/binding). I got zero response from all bound buttons.

So then i closed down the profile (clear) then re-opened it, and now the bindings work in game....... -_-

Originally i thought there was an issue with my XB controller being installed (i unplugged it and retried several times since before making my OP).

IDK weird. I've always had an issue with ghosts either in the hardware or software with this unit.

hm... there are several games I need to unplug or disable my x-52 otherwise the game uses all its axies and starts spinning my characters around...
Other times its my xbox controller doing it.

If in doubt disable the xbox controller in device manager, and then reboot. See if things work better after that.

yeah xbox is disabled currently and it seems ot be working.
I know that yeah, things like dark souls, having the x52 installed makes the camera go wild.

i guess i'll just keep bumbling through until it throws another curveball at me ha

thanks all.
