My tires keeps exploding
Hi... I'm slowly getting used to Su 33, take off, landing, etc with no problem (except when I'm messing of course)

So today I try Su 27 (not supposed to be really different), my problem is: My rear tires keep exploding on take off... no idea why... does anyone know what's going on?

Edit: It's definitely linked with the plane, since I just switched su27 to su33 in mission editor (exact same othe conditions)... No problem!
... strange

Currently the Su-33 uses a simplified flight model while the Su-27 uses a professional flight model.

What this means is a lot more things are modeled for the Su-27 such as exploding tires, wing flex under G load, wings and vertical stabilizers snapping off under G load, handling more realistically in the various flight regimes etc, etc... Bottom line, it's heavily modeled vs the Su-33.

The professional flight model for the 33 is just around the corner though. Won't be long before you're popping those tires too.
Ho... And how to prevent it then? I'm trying to pull the stick as smoothly as I can... but tires keep exploding
Use flaps on Take off. Make sure you lift your plane off the ground before 330 km/h. Dont yank the stick back so hard keep it gentle. I think the Su 33 might have more durable landing gear for carrier operations, not sure about that though.

On landing dont flare too much, as Su 27 and russian jets in general have a lower clearance. Best keep the speed around 300 on landing and your vertical velocity below 3 m/s on touchdown.

Ok, I'll try that

Flaps were on for sure... But I may have reached more than 330Km/h

So far, its safe bet to land below 330kph...I touchdown at around 320kph and 270kph and modulate the jet to aerobrake and then use the brake chute.

If you come too fast and brake hard it would explode.

For take off. Once you reach 140, gently pull stick and hold attitude 10° above horizont. The aircraft will take off nicely by itself. While landing, do not watch airspeed but AoA indicator. Trim you aircraft for AoA 10. Then use thrust for change of climb/descent rate and stick for change of speed. In both cases use flaps.

Thanks for advice but I wasnt even close to a landing... Didnt manage to take off properly (well I took off... but with exploded tires, so no real chance to land safely)

About flaps... Am I right If I use 1st position to take off and landing for ... landing! ?

SU-27 has automatic flaps and manual full flaps. Nothing more. So there are only 2 positions.

Well most Russian jets have it in metric on HUD display.

Pull stick slowly from 230kph-250kph on full load and 180kph on empty...a gradual slow pull.

Its dangerous to try at above 350kph...anything beyond that the tyres would go kaput.

For the F-15 you pull at 150 knots which is 280 kph.
Thanks for all those tips... I took off... and landed, after a successfull mission (those C 130 werent that hard :p Still practicing Gun and basic missiles)
