logitech 3D Pro or the logitech Attack 3, i have the attack 3 but now using the TM Warthog HOTAS. Attack 3 has more convinient buttons compared to the 3D Pro, but the 3D has twistable joystick to use as rudder. Both are good :)

3D pro is a nightmare....

T.16000M is your best bet.

T.16000M FCS is your best option, it costs about $120 so a bit above your budget but it is worth it.

attack 3 is very simple but convinient

Thrustmaster FCS, no regrets. Save some more, the throttle is worth it.

The T.flight Hotas X for 60 dollars or whatever is an OK beginner option but it will leave you wanting in very short order. But to get your feet wet on flight sticks, it is alright and I would recommend it. It lacks a huge amount of buttons but with modifiers you can make up for it. The biggest problem is the stick itself, it lacks accuracy and precision towards the center of the stick in particular and feels less like an instrument and more like a toy. This is especially problematic for aerial gunnery and in some cases for landing like if there's a significant crosswind. But I still can't not recommend it because it's 60 dollars or less and makes DCS immediately from unplayable to totally playable. I did fly hundreds of hours across multiple flight sims/games with the stick before replacing it. I just did so wishing I could've afforded something better almost the entire time.

Is a throttle really that important? I can afford the FCS version or i can get the regular 16000m

I use the VKB Gladiator for DCS and am very happy with it. $99. It's just the stick, however. I pair it with a 2nd hand X-55 throttle I picked up on eBay and that combo works very well.

Thanks for the input after watching multiple videos I concluded a throttle is necessary so I'm going to pick up the T.16000 FCS

Good choice, If you haven't already, watch Ralfidude's video on it.

Logitech offers a nice joystick for about 29.99 called the Extreme 3D Pro
Xoho Aug 13, 2017 @ 7:27pm
I bought two extreme 3d pros since my first one had a LOT of freeplay in the center. The second one was just as bad. It's incredibly inaccurate and requires a fairly large deadzone. Maybe 1/4 in left. 1/3 in right. 1/2 inch back. 1/4 in front. It's uneven and very annoying. It only got worse with moderate use. For this joystick I have about 1/6 of the total back pitch as a deadzone since the freeplay area is super inaccurate as well as being uncomfortable. (Values jump from 0-50+ randomly) I'm not sure if I'm an outlier or if this is "normal".
