Yeah the tutorial had me set the radio to 400 kHz, then I started hearing bips. I guess hearing them faster and faster means that you are getting closer. The problem is, I have no idea which direction to take, unless the missions wants me to wander around (which I think is unlikely), I'm stuck.
Does 001 mean 100m? If so, I couldn't see the solider at all...
Well if someone can confirm me that 001 means 100m or below that would be great. I'm tired of trying.
After setting the mode selector to ADF position, setting the frequency to 400kHz, and setting the TONE to ON position
You need to navigate using the HSI. you can find the HSI right in front of you
Look for the distance seperating you from the waypoint 1 to your present location :the istance is showing 138.
The HSI is a kind of compass. N is north and bearing 0. 18 is south and bearing is 180.
After you found the HSI, there are two kinds of needle. A double needle and a single thin one. You must follow the thin one as it is the emitter source. The double needle shows you the location of waypoint 1. The distance next to the HSI is the distance of waypoint 1. So first it will decrease, then it will increase as the solider is not on waypoint 1.
All these instructions are written in the tutorial, and it's my fault for not understanding them, but as it is my first time with simulators, I was overwhelmed with information, therefore I couldn't find what to do.
I hope it will help people who are stuck like I was.
Thank you coxy for pointing me to the right direction.
