At the moment I am about to give up on training mission "advanced flight maneuvers".
The FE voice tell me to fly 040, angels 15 at 220 knots. So I blindly obey and do the exercises he throws at me.
Every time when I get to the spiral dive exercise, just before he tells you to start, he interrupts himself saying "You flew outside of the MOA, you fail fail fail FAIL!". The annoying part is that he takes really long pauses between saying his sentences so you end up passing the river that defines the border of the MOA because he likes to....... speak...... this..... way.
The previous missions in this campaign felt rewarding tho and I guess I will browse forums for tips how to pass this one annoying mission.
The maneuver I am talking about is this one:

Only for me he takes longer breaks between messages.
If I pass this mission I will recommend the campaign but right now I am too annoyed and frustrated to recommend it ;-)
It is a test, as oppossed to a lesson?
you are already supposed to know the aircraft (and know it pretty well).
what they do teach you is stuff like airmanship and such.
because they DO teach things.
just not the basics of what does this and that button in the plane do.
and the startup / shutdown procedure you have to do every qualification.
basically the campaign consists of 12 missions divided into a training part and a qualificatoin part.
Training: You get a hot start/airborn so you can quickly get to the tests.
When you pass the training they tell you that you are either ready for the exam or that you failed and need more training.
Exam: You cold start on the ground and you are supposed to take off properly and return safe and shut down properly. You get 15 minutes to get your plane ready for flight and on return you have 2 minutes to shut down properly. Oh, and screw up somewhere and you won't know until you are back and shut your plane down. The whole flight might be for nothing if you got the startup procedure wrong.

Basic Flight Training Qualification has the following objectives:
Contact Stage (VFR):
1. Perform Ground Handling
2. Perform Take-Off and EFATO
3. Fly Traffic Pattern
4. Perform Approach and Landing
5. Perform Basic Maneuvers
6. Perform Advanced Handling
7. Perform Aerobatics
8. Respond to Emergencies
Instrument / Navigation Stage (IFR):
9. Instrument Approach (Landing)
10. Instrument Flight Plan Navigation
Formation Stage:
11. Fly 2 Ship as Wingman
Low-Level Stage
12. Fly Low-Level Flight Plan
Unfortunately, I find the in-game tutorials/training to be really lacking, considering the amount of information that needs to be learnt.
The BFT campaign is more stuff like learning what is pattern altitude, how do you fly patterns (enter pattern and leave pattern), how to handle engine failure, proper landing and communications. Well, from what I have seen so far. I am only halfways through it but I do like it. Even if I hate it at the moment for being frustrating ;-)
And which of two A-10C battle campaigns is better: "A-10C: The Enemy Within" or "A-10C: The Piercing Fury"?
What are the major differences between them?
1: If you dont have the TrackIR and HOTAS.
2: If you have a TrackIR and HOTAS.
Operation Piercing Fury is better. Both campaigns are counter insurgency operations and quite similar to each other. But what makes Piercing Fury different and better is the outstanding voice acting and radio comms chatter that make you feel like you are involved in a real life military op in my opinion.
