Is there a way to declare what is your locked target? (Like asking AWACS or something)
In BMS you can ask awacs for "Sentry Declare" and will tell you the target you are locking on. In F15 sometimes i lock something but it shows up as UKN = Unknown and would like to know what the hell is that but what i can ask from AWACS are Bogey dope wich is i believe the closest enemy aircharf direction heading and altitude but wont tell me the type of aircraft, or Picture wich tells me the groups of enemy aircrafts heading alt range etc.... So is there a way to Sentry declare in DCS? It would be even more useful in Russian jets

You can ask awacs to declare, I believe it is F6 in the awacs menu.

Well, the F-15 radar can identify target by its radar footprint. But not at all aircrafts or not from so big distance. It also has IFF system. The friends on radar have different shape than foes. If you mean RWR, the F-15 can not recognise all radars like radar range finder at Sabre. You can also ask awacs in radio menu to declare.

Yes and in the original question i stated that sometimes when i lock something it shows as UKN. I know F15 can identify targets from radar footprint but sometimes it shows UKN and yes sometimes shows Su27, Su25 etc... but theres that UNK too. Thats why i needed AWACS to declare what did i lock. But its already solved and sorted out. I figured that the Russian aerial refuel plane ( ?IL78? ) is that shows up mostly as UKN.
The NCTR system on the eagle as stated earlier only works at somewhat closer ranges, and works best from the front. It all depends on the size of the target I would imagine.
