Concerning "replays"
I have some questions concerning the replays. On first impression they are quite lacking compared to any other games replay mechanics. As far as I understand the only thing available is a replayed mission where you get a autopilot that mimics what you did in previous mission-attempt. Now what do we all want when we whatch a replay? We want to be able to roam free in all the perspective modes right? Is there any way to do this? Also we would like to fast forward or rewind. This I'm quite sure its not possible but I'm asking anyway: is there a way to fast forward or rewind in replay-mode?

I have seen some youtube clips where they romanticize their previous battles with some good alternative perspectives that would be impossible to record and play at the same time. Must have been done by a replay function with free roaming through perspectives.

Bonus question! I bought the SU-27 the other day and was gunna do the take off-tutorial (just because I can) but for some reason the rudder seams broken in the su-27 specificly in this mission. Is this bug reported to the devs? Or am I perhaps forgetting something..

On top of that I just wanna mention I think its an awesome game and the most convincing and immersive Air-combat game yet.

I am not sure, what do you mean by this. There is recorded also looking around the cocpit, mouse moving and buttons.

Lctrl+Y Time accelerate
Lalt+Y Time decelerate
Lshift+Y Time normal

Rewind is not possible

You can change it in controls options, general tab.
You can use some mods for free camera or just use F11 view, where you control camera with mouse.

At SU-27 did you check the axis assign in control options?

Free cam isn't really a thing. Most videos just use the different "F" views (F2,F3,F4, etc.) many videos also use Tacview which is free replay and review tool available at tacview.net

ok I only tryed the replay once and I could not move a thing. I could choose "take over" in options though. Tryed the different f-keys ofcourse and it did not work. I guess it was just DCS beeing a bit faulty that time then. I will retry at next chance and try the f-keys once more.

The SU-27 has nose wheel steering like its real life counter part its not broken CTRL+Q (I think) will engage and dis engage please check bindings, Replays in DCSW are bugged and no doubt waiting on a fix, For me id like to be able to re-wind a track to a point.

Also depends what views are enbaled in mission editor or the server you fly in.

Ok so it has no rudders. Good to know! But I still see the pedals pushed down correctly when trying to turn. That should make the plane turn the nose right? Especially (as mentioned) its only in this tutorial part that I cant turn on the ground.

It has rudders, but they (as in almost all aircraft) are only effective above a certain airspeed. Without nosewheel steering engaged you will see the pedals move but that only turns the rudders and not the nosewheel hence why in the air the rudders work. With NWS on it will turn the nosewheel and rudders, make sure to turn NWS back off again above the rudder effective speed so that you don't spin out. In terms of replays you can't use the mouse to look in the cockpit AFAIK but the external views should let you, keep in mind some of them can't be manipulated by you (such as flyby view).

You could always do some nice things with the camera you just have to know all the shortcuts and make sure the mission being run allows external cameras and such.

you can even watch the air show from a unit on the ground once you know how to use all the features of the camera during the replay... and perhaps thats the best use if just to demo flight stuffs because once missiles start being fired the replay will often break as it re-simulates the missile flight path and it might not be exactly the same reaction from the missile and its movements often breaking tracks.

I tried using some more advanced camera options when i recorded this video:

if you want to see the mission for educational purposes you would want to watch replays in tacview and not in game.
