Game doesn't detect my joystick
Joystick: Logitech Extreme 3D Pro

Any other game detects it perfectly fine (Il-2, WarThunder, etc).

What do you mean with detect, can you elaborate?

If it doesn't work in-game, you might need to manually bind the axis and buttons to actions. Also check that there's no conflict with other input devices, ie. two axis bound to the same action.

If you can't see the joystick in the controls tab, you might need to drag the slider at the bottom to the right. Happens if you have a lot of input devices.

Detect - means detect. The game doesn't show it in the control panel. There is only keyboard and mouse.
And I have only one input device connected.

Make sure you have installed the propper drivers. Make sure in steam Big Picture mode are turned off all gamepad emulations.

How do i make sure that it is turned off I cant see a tab that says gamepad emulations on big picture mode settings

nevermind just turned off something in the controller settings and it fixed the problem

Right click on DCS in your Library, choose Properties.

Under the first tab - General
At the bottom, Steam Input Per-Game Setting (Requires restart of game)
Choose Forced Off

This is the emulator that makes the Steam Controller a virtual XBox360 controller since it's not a DirectInput controller. For some reason it blocks HOTAS in many games. I actually wanted to get both to work so that I could use the touchpads to bring up radial menus. Maybe it works now.
