Report a translation problem
If it doesn't work in-game, you might need to manually bind the axis and buttons to actions. Also check that there's no conflict with other input devices, ie. two axis bound to the same action.
If you can't see the joystick in the controls tab, you might need to drag the slider at the bottom to the right. Happens if you have a lot of input devices.
And I have only one input device connected.
Under the first tab - General
At the bottom, Steam Input Per-Game Setting (Requires restart of game)
Choose Forced Off
This is the emulator that makes the Steam Controller a virtual XBox360 controller since it's not a DirectInput controller. For some reason it blocks HOTAS in many games. I actually wanted to get both to work so that I could use the touchpads to bring up radial menus. Maybe it works now.
