If I remember right, there are tape recorders as save points. Just activate one and save your game.

you need a nightmare tape to do that. the game has NO nightmare tapes in it therefore there is no way to save

1st save point is near the place where you meet 1st monster. If you can't find it, there's a problem with your copy of game. Try to reinstall it then.

You must be playing on "nightmare" difficulty I assume? You can save at said tape recorders just fine on the normal/medium/average (whatever its called) difficulty without the need for any items. If this is not the case and you are playing on the average difficulty then... well... You done goofed. Try a fresh install of the game, the nuclear option nearly always works.

Figurd it out. Again, these tapes are only necessary on Nightmare Difficulty. First tape is found near the very first recorder and a single tape can be used five times. Not sure if you can get any more tapes, but I doubt it. Playing the game on any other dofficulty allows you to save on any recorder without needing a tape.

Alternatively you can save/load with the console. Simply type in "save [nameOfSave]" of course without the quotations and replacing the brackets with the name of your save. To load a save simply type "load [nameofSave]" where the brackets are replaced with the name of the save you created. (And again, no quotations.)

Craptastic, console doesnt work as I thought. Not a big deal, there are plenty of save points and Nightmare Difficulty should be more for a challenge than a first playthrough.

You're wrong. It is possible to save. The nightmare tapes is only existing in nightmare mode. And if not playing in nightmare diffuculty, you don't need them anyway. That means, that you don't need a tape to save normally. If not playing in nightmare diffuculty.

Start a new game on any difficulty setting below Nightmare, then you will be able to save no problem.

I don't know if ebolamorph is having the same problem, but I'm playing on normal and when I interact with the tape recorder, the save menu comes up, but it doesn't do anything.

when I was still trying to play it gave me that issue or it would corrupt my save file. I gave up ages ago trying to get this game into a functional state
