"STEAM validation rejected"

Anyone else get this? Even after restarting my game and validating the game's cache files I'm still getting this error. Help?

You get this in coop? Are you tying to connect to a friend?

Hmm, weird I could say it probably might be an error connecting to a friend so it could be your friend and not you. My friend got that same error today though connecting to me but he was able to connect after trying again. Have you tried hosting it besides your friend? If it says the same for your friend all I could say for now is reinstall. But give it a try or try it with a new friend and see if you have the same results.

Ok, I've only scaned this page but it works on all source or valve games. Give it a read and if some looks like too much or not necessary just say so or if they dont work. but see if one of those tricks work.
