I know its a free game and everything, but i wont even play if i got to deal with windowed, black bars, and stretched screens.

FFS , setting custom aspect ratios and resolutions should be the easiest part in game programming. ♥♥♥♥.

16:10 is not only older, but also superior to 16:9, as you can use resolutions of both 4:3 and 16:9 on it as well with ease.

Also what the heck are people whining about? You can switch the game's resolution to ANYTHING you want from the in-game Options menu! I play at 1920x1200 just fine.
720p looks fine on laptop monitors (usually 768p).

Im running at 1600x900 (Exactly 16:9) fine.
Don't know what your deal is.

Well regardless, it's peculiar as to why something like this is not present. All other Source games/mods I have played support the main resolutions and if it's not on the list, the -h and -w launch commands can fill you in.
This on the other hand comes with limited display options and an annoying launch box that prevents you from using the launch commands mentioned above. It doesn't help that the main menu is also disorganized and broken.

8 months passed and still no support for it was added.

Set the resolution to "Widescreen"
