What I basically did was up the damage of guns by 20-30%. Also, I put Headshot damage @ 3x. Can you believe in Co-op they turn HS damage to 1x? So that all damage, head body, foot, ect, is the same? I can't.
To accomidate for this, I made bosses abit harder, upped enemies health a tiny bit, but not much. My server was always pretty popular because of this. Some could say I made the game easy mode.
However, I was annoyed with the default settings of trying for an hour to get past one level because an enemy just absorbed all of your bullets. We're supposed to run, lol, but that's no fun.
I don't care if there is 4 people - Headshots should do extra. Always, no matter what.
*Player B, C, and D open the Steam overlay, right-click on Player A's name and click Join Game.
That's what my brother and I do, because well, that's the only thing we could do to get a co-op game going. I don't know about port-forwarding, we never do that since we're in the same house.
*Some/All of us are fairly low health.
*Simon spawned. <--You'll notice it when his health bar appears along with some creepy music plus a crapload more monsters than usual (like 4 flygares in the same spot)
*Flygares are present.
*Tallers are closing in.
*We're caught off guard by those speeder-type monsters who managed to close in on us.
*A sawcrazy is present.
*A watro pops up. <--In some cases, we decide to just run past it and take some damage instead of killing it.
Of course, these rules of ours aren't followed all the time. But we tend to stick to these in the name of ammo-saving. I'm not sure if ammo and weapon spawns adjust to the number of players, but for just the two of us, there's ammo every now and then.
I'm not a tech buff so I can't answer that accurately. I can say, however, of the two computers used to play CoF, one's a desktop PC (this hosts the game) directly connected to the router while the other's a laptop that connects wirelessly. Does that count as over-the-'net?
In the skill file, which line changes the multiplayer options? Would it be sk_monster_head4, because it seems to be the only one with a value of x1 instead of x3, but I'm not sure if the ones with "4" after them are just the harder difficulties.
difficulty 1 it will set the server difficulty to 1 wich means easy, 2 means normal, 3 means deaficult (sorry for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ speeling) and 4 means nightmare
1 = 1 player
2 = 2 players
3 = 3 players
4 = 4 players.
Really simple stuff.
