Cry of Fear
Sawer Boss needs a serious change.
Just tried beating the Sawer boss. This boss battle sucks. The room is way too small. And it takes to many bullets to stop this SOB just so you can get around behined him to shoot him in the back. And I'm playing this on Easy. At least make the games first boss something you can kill with a pistol.

It's not really hard to beat him unless you keep wasting your bullets & go rambo about it, or you're just too lousy to beat it.
I havent been able to beat him in like, what? 3 month`s? Guess I went rambo. >.< Also isn't sawer the first jumpscare at the beginning? the one with the lighting? (When the lightning flashes the sawer is standing right there for 1 second.) I think only I noticed this.
In my first session, I was just hopping around like an idiot and just heard lightning and just went meh. After getting the glock I just kinda noped out of the game to do other stuff. Fast forward a month and then I reinstall, come back, knowing everything, then just ♥♥♥♥ my pants thinking the game changed itself when it saw me freak. Sadly it was not so.
Just always walk backwards in circles around the room, looking at the sawer and shoot until he goes down, then switch to knife and attack his back until he stands up, repeat this until he dies.
this boss was very easy i killed him with a knife on nightmare difficulty
it took a long time and effort
its very simple to dodge him if you know how to backstrafe in circles :demoticon:
dude, you just need to get better at understanding the attack patterns and movement speeds of the enemys. He really isn't hard. I've beaten him on nightmare with a knife. TAKES SO DAMN LONG TO KILL!
When you fight him in nightmare you should have the Famas or the axe. The camera doesn't affect him. He isn't really meant to be fought with conventional weapons in nightmare, but it is doable. It takes 18 minutes to beat him with only the glock. I timed it x) Your biggest risk going about it that way is falling out of your rhythm and getting one hit killed.

Tips for beating him are:

1. Never run out of stamina
2. Never back yourself into a corner
3. Always close in and dodge back to make a hit and trigger his response.

4. Never go for your follow up attack right after he attacks as he will immeadiately cycle into his second attack as if you never moved away. This is due to the nature of Half Lifes NPC AI coding. If you give him a slight moments pause after his attack he will go into movement mode and as such will 'hesitate' before attacking. (Don't remember if that one still applies to the Sawer Boss, but it works wonders on a lot of the other enemies :) ).

I had a really hard time beating this guy. (This is only my second game I have ever played, so yeah, I kinda suck, lol). But, I finally beat him with just the knife. Using the gun didn't really help.
Yeah he can be hard at first. From Easy to Normal you shouldn't struggle too much once you learn his attack pattern (Dark souls anyone? x) ). He'll usually kneel under the pressure of your glock after half the clip or so and then you can unload the rest into his weakpoint before he gets back up.

Your ammo count shouldn't be an issue at that point as you pick up at least three or four clips on your way down the stairs.

If you play on hard it's a different story entirely, there you'll have to beat him to his knees before unloading your bullets into his weakpoint, otherwise you'll spend a lot of time taking him down. Hard is best played with an unlock :)
