i can't get past the sawer boss battle i know they stock you up on ammo and give you ONE syringe. How are you suposed to beat i tried shooting him how

You need to turn the valves all around the room (Hold E) till they stop turning. After they stop turning you need to get dry ground, because of the valve you turned will send a electrical surge through the water that will damage the boss and could take a big chunk of your health. If you stop turning the valve it will start to spin in the opposite direction till you have to turn the valve all over again. To slow the boss down so you can have enough time to turn the valve you must smack him with a melee weapon, and while he is in midswing run to the valve on the opposite side of the room and work on the valve their. You cannot kill this boss with weapons only turning the valves can kill him.

First, you need the key. Then shoot him to make him tired than quickly run to the door, press tab obviously, equip the key and then press e on the door. Of course you know how to equip stuff and open the door. Btw, when you open the door, KEEP going because he chases you until the next door. If you still have problems, tell me it. Hope this helps.

YOU GUYS ARE WRONG ALL I DID WAS SHOOT HIM UNTIL HE GOT IN THE CROUCHING POSITION THEN I SHOT THE EYE UNTIL HE GOT BACK UP AND REPEAT

Hey man go easy, so you are a major dude at games. Some other players arent as skilled so back off!

Sawer can be easily beaten with the switchblade if you're good at dodging. Let him come close, slash him, dodge backwards before he chainsaws you, repeat. After a few slashes he'll crouch and you can run behind him and slash the eyeball a good 6-7 times before he gets back up.

Sawer is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ catastrophe on Nightmare, the knife strategy won't help too much on that mode unless the switchblade is David's axe. and even then he takes practically no damage, i highly suggest shooting the eye with the Glock if you try to beat Nightmare mode.
