Chapter 4 - Stuck Inside Apartments.

I am currently stuck inside the apartments, having screwed myself over.

I found a ladder in the waterlogged basement before travelling upstairs to find the first fuse.

At the time of finding the first fuse, I had a full inventory.

I dropped the ladder, thinking I had no use for it at the time, and picked up the fuse.

Upon dropping the ladder, it slowly sank through the table I dropped it on, and then through the floor.

I proceeded to overwrite my previous save and continued to search around the apartments for an exit.

I have no backup saves I can use, and, as far as I can see, have no way out.

Is there another ladder located in the apartments?

Or is there a workaround to getting out of the apartments?

Nope, there's no other ladder. You're supposed to use it to climb through a window in an alley outside.

You could try typing "map mapname" in console to restart in a specific level, but you'll probably lose all your equipment. There could also be a "give itemname" cheat which you could use to get the ladder back.

Well You To Find A Way To Get Out Of This Ugly Place Which Is Unfornute Because You're Trapped Inside A Hotel With No Way Out And You Must Find A Ladder Go Use The Console Commands Borrowed From Half-Life 2 Use IT And Get The Ladder And Climb It Down Back

Can't get back into Cry of Fear after losing this save...

Shame, since the game is very atmospheric and slightly nostalgic-esque.

I haven't played the game in 7 years... Forgot all about it.

Greetings, not sure if you have found the way out or not but i am currently playing this game and the ladder might appear differently for everyone or maybe different save files as well it is random.
So,
First, place is outside the torture room after the save recorder as soon as you exit the room the ladder would appear magically (render) in front of you as soon as you take step.

Second, in the basement where you can swim and you can see the the message " I can not open door with this water", there on the left after first doorway all the furniture is put to block the way well you can swim above the furniture by crouching and swim you will get to the point where a in the video tape a guy kills somebody by chopping his head off. There you must find the ladder.
