One of the best horror games ever

Hey forum,
Who else agrees with me this game is the creepiest/coolest survival horror you ever played?
I like how dark, unsettling the story is, I like the enemy's, the scenery and epicness of some moments. The train crash 'lost bag and weapons' really stood out for me. Most epic moment in game.

Just wish the game was created this year or something. Better grahpics, smoother cutscene animations, detail mapping on walls and shadowing.
If they'd remake this, I would seriously buy the game. What do you think?

Keep in mind that this was supposed to be a mod! I played many HL mods, but this one was the best so far. Such a creepy atmosphere, I will spend many hours playing this game...

this and outlast are the two scarest game up to now
with source engine, variety of enemies, advanced jumpscares( i like idea monsters coming out from every spots-drawers, refriderator, ceiling, behind of curtains etc.) the game would have been more completed

Outlast is far from scary.
I would play Outlast in the dark while screaming Bloody Mary into my mirror whilst also drawing Pentagrams on my wall in human blood than play the Apartmants level from Cry of Fear again.

You'll get used to every scary thing eventually. I can replay the apartments from Cry Of Fear without being scared as I know every jumpscare and enemy around every corner.
The only bit in Cry Of Fear where I am still really scared of is when you pull out the fuse in the school building. That's still the most intense scare of the game in my opinion. The music that plays gives you the opposite of relaxed.

The descent into madness, the increasing levels of paranoia, that music OMFG, the monsters that act as a reflection of his suffering ... it's simply excellent.
